## Workday Jobs Scraper & Change Detector

Python 3.12 Apify Actor for extracting public Workday job listings and detecting
new, changed, and removed postings between runs.

### Development status

The project has a current Apify Python lifecycle, locked dependencies, a
reproducible container build, linting, type checking, and tests. It can now
validate public Workday URLs, derive their public JSON search endpoint, paginate
list-level results, deduplicate them, and write real records to an Apify Dataset.

Job-detail extraction, filtering, normalization beyond list-level fields, change
detection, input and dataset schemas, and billing are still to be implemented.

No external database is used. The finished Actor will use Apify Dataset for run
results and Apify Key-Value Store for monitoring snapshots.

### Local development

Install [uv](https://docs.astral.sh/uv/), then run:

The checked-in `requirements.txt` is generated from `uv.lock` for compatibility
with standard Python tooling. Manage dependencies with `uv add` and regenerate it

Optional maximum posting age. Jobs with an unavailable date are retained.

## `maxJobsPerSource` (type: `integer`):

Safety limit. Reaching it marks the crawl truncated and prevents removed-job detection.

## `includeJobDetails` (type: `boolean`):

Fetches the public detail endpoint for each job; this increases requests and run time.

## `includeDescriptionHtml` (type: `boolean`):

Store original Workday description HTML in addition to cleaned text.

## `parseSalary` (type: `boolean`):

Best-effort parsing of common US salary formats; raw source text is always retained when found.

## `deduplicateJobs` (type: `boolean`):

Use stable Workday requisition, job ID, or external path to remove duplicates.

## `changeDetection` (type: `object`):

Optional named monitoring scope. A first baseline stores the snapshot without treating current jobs as alerts.

## `proxyConfiguration` (type: `object`):

Optional Apify Proxy settings. Disabled by default; public Workday JSON endpoints often do not need it.
