## Pricing

from $2.25 / 1,000 url analyzeds

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.
Since this Actor supports Apify Store discounts, the price gets lower the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

## Tech Stack Detector: Website Technology Lookup & Wappalyzer

**Tech stack detector** and **website technology lookup** for any domain: CMS, e-commerce platform, analytics and marketing tools, JavaScript frameworks, CDN, web servers, payment providers and **7,000+ other technologies**. Paste a list of domains, get versions and categories for each one in a clean table or JSON. It costs **$3 per 1,000 websites**, and websites that fail to load are **free**.

### BuiltWith / Wappalyzer alternative

Uses the same open-source [webappanalyzer](https://github.com/enthec/webappanalyzer) fingerprint database as Wappalyzer (7,628 technologies across 90+ categories, with version numbers where the site exposes them), at a fraction of the price of BuiltWith or a Wappalyzer subscription, with no monthly commitment. Websites that fail to load are never billed.

### Use cases

- **Find every Shopify / WordPress / HubSpot site in a list**: paste your domain list and filter the output by `technologies[].name`.
- **Lead qualification**: find every prospect running Shopify, WordPress, HubSpot or a competitor's product.
- **Sales prospecting lists**: segment thousands of domains by the technology they use.
- **Competitor research**: see what your competitors' sites run on and which versions they use.
- **Market share analysis**: measure how widely a technology is adopted across a list of sites.
- **Tech and security audits**: spot outdated CMS or library versions across a portfolio of sites.

### Input

```json
{
  "urls": ["wordpress.org", "shopify.com", "https://apify.com"],
  "maxConcurrency": 10,
  "timeoutSecs": 20,
  "includeJobs": false,
  "maxJobsPerSite": 20
}
```

| Field | What it does | Default |
|---|---|---|
| `urls` | Domains or URLs to analyze. The `https://` prefix is optional. | required |
| `maxConcurrency` | Websites analyzed in parallel (1 to 50) | `10` |
| `timeoutSecs` | Maximum time to fetch one website (5 to 120 seconds) | `20` |
| `includeJobs` | Add a `hiring` field with the job board and open jobs found on the site | `false` |
| `maxJobsPerSite` | Jobs listed in the `hiring` field (0 to 100) | `20` |

### Output

One item per website:

```json
{
  "url": "wordpress.org",
  "finalUrl": "https://wordpress.org/",
  "statusCode": 200,
  "technologies": [
    { "name": "WordPress", "version": "6.7", "categories": ["CMS", "Blogs"], "confidence": 100, "website": "https://wordpress.org" },
    { "name": "PHP", "version": null, "categories": ["Programming languages"], "confidence": 100, "website": "http://php.net" },
    { "name": "jQuery", "version": "3.7.1", "categories": ["JavaScript libraries"], "confidence": 100, "website": "https://jquery.com" }
  ],
  "categories": ["Blogs", "CMS", "JavaScript libraries", "Programming languages"],
  "error": null
}
```

Export it as JSON, CSV or Excel, or read it through the Apify API.

### Hiring signals

Set `includeJobs` to `true` to see whether each company is hiring. The Actor looks for a Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby or Workday job board in the analyzed page, then in its careers page (one extra request on the same site), and reads the open jobs from the board's public API. Each item gets a `hiring` field, or `hiring: null` when no board is found. `maxJobsPerSite` caps the jobs listed (default 20, up to 100), while `openJobs` always gives the full count. The whole jobs lookup for a site shares one time budget equal to `timeoutSecs`. Greenhouse boards do not expose departments in their light listing, so `department` is null for them. Only job data is returned: no recruiter names, emails or phone numbers. The price per website stays the same, and a failure on the jobs side never fails or changes the price of the technology analysis.

Real output for `netlify.com` (trimmed to 2 jobs):

```json
"hiring": {
  "platform": "greenhouse",
  "careersUrl": "https://job-boards.greenhouse.io/netlify",
  "openJobs": 5,
  "jobs": [
    { "title": "Customer Success Associate (Denver, CO)", "location": "Remote", "department": null, "url": "https://job-boards.greenhouse.io/netlify/jobs/8806100002", "postedAt": "2026-09-25T19:44:24.000Z" },
    { "title": "Finance Manager (Corporate Finance)", "location": "Remote", "department": null, "url": "https://job-boards.greenhouse.io/netlify/jobs/8823513002", "postedAt": "2026-09-18T23:10:40.000Z" }
  ]
}
```

### Call it from your code (API)

Run it synchronously and get the dataset items back in one request:

```bash
curl -X POST "https://api.apify.com/v2/acts/Boubap~tech-stack-detector/run-sync-get-dataset-items?token=<YOUR_APIFY_TOKEN>" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"urls": ["shopify.com", "wordpress.org"]}'
```

The response is the JSON array shown in the Output section. Synchronous calls time out after 300 seconds, so for long lists start an asynchronous run and read the dataset when it finishes.

### Use with AI agents (MCP)

Add this Actor to an agent through the [Apify MCP server](https://mcp.apify.com) by enabling `Boubap/tech-stack-detector`. The agent reads the input schema, sends a list of domains in `urls` and receives structured technologies per site. It is a regular Actor run (not a Standby server), billed per website analyzed, with no API key needed for the sites themselves.

### Pricing

You pay **$0.003 per website analyzed** ($3 per 1,000). Websites that time out, block the request or don't exist are returned with an `error` field and are **not charged**.

### FAQ

**Does it render JavaScript?** No. It fetches the page over HTTP and matches headers, cookies, HTML, meta tags and script URLs, with no browser involved. This keeps it fast and cheap, but technologies that only appear after JavaScript executes (client-side-rendered widgets, for example) can be missed.

**What are the limits?** Up to `maxConcurrency` websites in parallel (default 10, max 50) and `timeoutSecs` per website (default 20s); the HTML matched is capped at 512 KB per page.

**Can I use it from my code, Make, Zapier or an AI agent?** Yes. Call it through the Apify API, the Make and Zapier integrations, or the Apify MCP server for AI agents.

**Does it collect personal data?** No. It only reads public technical signals from websites.

**Do I need an API key?** No.

# Actor input Schema

## `urls` (type: `array`):

Domains or URLs to analyze, one per line. Example: shopify.com or https://example.com/page; the https:// prefix is optional. Required. Each entry returns one item with the detected technologies (name, version, categories, confidence), the final URL after redirects and the HTTP status. Entries that fail to load return an error field and are not billed.

## `maxConcurrency` (type: `integer`):

Number of websites analyzed in parallel, from 1 to 50. Default 10. Raise it for long lists, lower it if target sites rate limit you.

## `timeoutSecs` (type: `integer`):

Maximum time allowed to fetch one website, from 5 to 120 seconds. Default 20. A website slower than this is returned with an error field and is not billed. With includeJobs, the hiring lookup gets its own budget of the same length.

## `includeJobs` (type: `boolean`):

When enabled, each website also gets a hiring field: the job board found on the site (Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby or Workday), the number of open jobs and the latest jobs (title, location, department, URL, date). The board is found from the analyzed page or its careers page on the same site, within the website timeout. Sites without a detectable board return hiring: null. No extra charge.

## `maxJobsPerSite` (type: `integer`):

Maximum number of jobs listed in the hiring field of each website, from 0 to 100. Default 20. The openJobs count always reports the full number of open jobs. Used only when hiring signals are enabled.

```
# Actor output Schema
## `results` (type: `string`):
Dataset items of the run: one item per result, with the fields described in the dataset schema.
## `hiring` (type: `string`):
Job board, open jobs count and latest jobs per website, when includeJobs is enabled.
