## Steam Scraper: Games, Prices & Top Sellers

Pull structured game data from the Steam store: **search by keyword**, **look up games by app ID**, and **read the live Top Sellers chart**, with real prices for any country.

Built on Steam's own public store endpoints, so there is no login, no key and no bot wall.

### Do you need an API key? No. Is there a free tier? Yes.

The two things people search for in this category, measured, are **free** and
**API key**: `steam api free games`.

So, plainly:

- **No API key.** Nothing to register for, nothing to rotate, no key to leak in
  a repo. The source is a public API published deliberately by its owner.
- **No proxy setup.** The source does not bot-wall datacenter addresses, so the
  default works.
- **Pay per result, not per month.** There is no subscription and no minimum.
  Rows that error or that your filters drop are **not charged**.
- **Free to try.** Run it with the prefilled input and see real rows before

### Regional pricing, which is the whole reason to run it per country

Steam prices the same game differently in every region, and the `country` input
is passed straight through as the `cc` parameter, so any Steam storefront works:
`us`, `gb`, `de`, `fr`, `it`, `es`, `pl`, `ru`, `tr`, `br`, `ar`, `mx`, `jp`,
`kr`, `cn`, `in`, `au`, `ca`, `il` and the rest.

Run several and the same `appId` comes back once per country with that region's
`price`, `originalPrice`, `discountPercent` and `currency`, which is how you see
a regional price gap rather than guess at one.

`language` sets the language of the returned text (title, description, genres),
independently of the pricing country.

**Per game** you get title, app ID, `appType`, release date and coming-soon flag,
developers, publishers, genres, categories, price with any active discount,
Metacritic score, recommendation count, supported platforms, required age,
header image, and the store URL.

**Free-to-play titles** come back with `isFree: true` and no price, rather than
a misleading zero.

### Notes

- Steam rate-limits aggressive clients. This Actor paces requests and rotates proxy IPs automatically; leave the default Apify proxy on.
- Games that are region-locked or delisted return an `error` row rather than failing the whole run.
- Set a **max charge per run** in the run options if you want a hard spend ceiling. The Actor honors it and stops cleanly.

#### Do I need a Steam API key or a Steam account?

No. This uses Steam's own public store endpoints, the same ones the store pages
themselves call, so there is no login, no key and no bot wall.

#### How do I find a game's app ID?

It is in the store URL: `store.steampowered.com/app/1145350/` is app ID
`1145350`. If you only know the name, search by keyword first and the app ID
comes back on every row.

#### Can I get prices for a specific country?

Yes, and this is the main reason to use it over a single-region scraper. Set
`country` to any two-letter code such as `us`, `gb`, `de`, `br`, `tr` or `il`, and Steam
returns that region's price and currency. Run the same `appIds` across several
countries in separate runs to build a regional price-comparison table.

#### Can I detect a discount the moment it goes live?

Schedule a run with your `appIds` and watch `discountPercent` and `price`
against `originalPrice`. Steam exposes those on the store payload, so a scheduled
run every few hours is enough to catch a sale as it starts.

#### Does it return user reviews?

No. It returns `recommendationCount`, meaning how many recommendations a game
has, and `metacriticScore`, but not individual review text.

#### What happens with delisted or region-locked games?

They come back as `error` rows naming the problem, and error rows are never
charged. The rest of the run continues.

#### Can I track what genres are selling over time?

Yes. Set `includeTopSellers: true` on a daily schedule. Each row carries
`topSellerRank` and its genres, so a few weeks of runs gives you your own
sales-trend dataset that Steam does not publish historically.
