## What's an Apify Actor?

Actors are web data automations that power AI and operations. They run on the Apify platform to scrape websites, process data, connect APIs, and automate workflows.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.
Actors are written with capital "A".

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.
The best way to integrate Actors is as follows.

- **AI agents and MCP clients** — the [Apify MCP server](https://docs.apify.com/integrations/mcp.md) at `https://mcp.apify.com` (remote, streamable HTTP, OAuth on first use).
- **Agentic workflows and local Actor development** — [Agent Skills](https://apify.com/.well-known/agent-skills/index.json) with the [Apify CLI](https://docs.apify.com/cli/docs.md): `npm install -g apify-cli`, then `apify login`.
- **JavaScript/TypeScript projects** — the official [JS/TS client](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md): `npm install apify-client`.
- **Python projects** — the official [Python client](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md): `pip install apify-client`.
- **Any other language** — the [REST API](https://docs.apify.com/api/v2.md).

## Hiring Signal Leads — B2B Buying Signals from Job Boards

**Companies actively hiring are companies with budget.** This Actor turns any company's public job board into a scored B2B lead record — open-role counts, hiring velocity, department growth, and roles matching what *you* sell — across **5 ATS platforms**: Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, Workable, SmartRecruiters.

Built on official public job-board APIs: HTTP-only, no proxies, no anti-bot breakage. You are only charged for lead records actually delivered — companies below your thresholds are skipped free.

### What you get — one scored lead per company

```json
{
  "company": "Blueground",
  "leadScore": "HOT",
  "totalOpenRoles": 29,
  "recentRoles": 4,
  "matchingRoles": 1,
  "departmentsHiring": 2,
  "topDepartments": [{ "name": "City Core", "count": 20 }],
  "signals": [
    "Scaling fast: 29 open roles",
    "4 role(s) posted in last 30 days",
    "1 role(s) matching your keywords — direct buying signal"
  ],
  "sampleJobs": [{ "title": "Junior Account Executive", "applyUrl": "..." }]
}
```

### Why hiring data beats cold lists

- A company hiring **5 SDRs** is buying sales tools *this quarter*.
- A company hiring **DevOps engineers** has infrastructure budget *now*.
- A company hiring across **4+ departments** is in growth mode — every vendor's best moment.

Feed it your prospect list, set `roleKeywords` to the roles your buyers hire for, and get back a prioritized HOT/WARM/COLD queue with evidence your SDRs can quote in the first line of an email.

### How scoring works

- **HOT** — multiple roles matching your keywords, or a keyword match plus high recent velocity
- **WARM** — some keyword match, high velocity, or large-scale hiring (20+ roles)
- **COLD** — hiring, but no strong signal for you

Tune with `recentDays`, `minOpenRoles`, and `hotOnly` (skipped companies are never charged).

### Input example

```json
{
  "sources": ["greenhouse:stripe", "lever:palantir", "ashby:ramp"],
  "roleKeywords": ["sales", "account executive"],
  "recentDays": 30,
  "hotOnly": true
}
```

`sources` accepts `platform:slug` or a pasted careers URL (auto-detected).

### Monitor mode

Schedule it daily/weekly over your full prospect list and pipe HOT leads to Slack, Sheets, or your CRM via Apify integrations — a standing hiring-signal radar for your territory.

# Actor input Schema

## `sources` (type: `array`):

One entry per company: `platform:slug` (e.g. `greenhouse:stripe`, `lever:palantir`, `ashby:ramp`, `workable:blueground`, `smartrecruiters:servicenow`) or a careers-board URL — platform auto-detected.

## `roleKeywords` (type: `array`):

Keywords matched against job titles to compute the `matchingRoles` signal — e.g. `sales`, `marketing`, `devops`. If your product sells to sales teams, companies hiring salespeople are your hottest leads. Leave empty to score on overall hiring only.

## `recentDays` (type: `integer`):

Postings published within this many days count as 'recent' for hiring-velocity scoring.

## `minOpenRoles` (type: `integer`):

Skip companies with fewer total open roles than this (no lead record, no charge).

## `hotOnly` (type: `boolean`):

Only output companies scored HOT.

## `includeSampleJobs` (type: `boolean`):

Attach up to 5 matching job titles + apply URLs to each lead as evidence.
