## What's an Apify Actor?

Actors are web data automations that power AI and operations. They run on the Apify platform to scrape websites, process data, connect APIs, and automate workflows.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.
Actors are written with capital "A".

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.
The best way to integrate Actors is as follows.

- **AI agents and MCP clients** — the [Apify MCP server](https://docs.apify.com/integrations/mcp.md) at `https://mcp.apify.com` (remote, streamable HTTP, OAuth on first use).
- **Agentic workflows and local Actor development** — [Agent Skills](https://apify.com/.well-known/agent-skills/index.json) with the [Apify CLI](https://docs.apify.com/cli/docs.md): `npm install -g apify-cli`, then `apify login`.
- **JavaScript/TypeScript projects** — the official [JS/TS client](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md): `npm install apify-client`.
- **Python projects** — the official [Python client](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md): `pip install apify-client`.
- **Any other language** — the [REST API](https://docs.apify.com/api/v2.md).

For usage examples, see the [API](#api) section below.

# README

## BGASC Scraper

Scrape precious-metals bullion and coin listings from [BGASC.com](https://www.bgasc.com) — gold, silver, platinum, and palladium coins, bars, and rounds.

Search any term and get clean, structured JSON: title, metal, product type, weight (troy oz), purity, price, MSRP, availability, image, and product URL. Optionally pull each product's quantity-based **volume pricing tiers** (Cash/Wire, Crypto, and Card/PayPal columns).

### What you get

Each result includes:

| Field | Description |
|-------|-------------|
| `title` | Product name |
| `metal` | Gold / Silver / Platinum / Palladium / Copper |
| `productType` | Coin / Bar / Round / Note |
| `weight` | Metal content in troy ounces (derived from title) |
| `weightLabel` | Raw weight text (e.g. "1 oz", "10 gram") |
| `purity` | Fineness (e.g. `.999`, `22k`, `90% silver`) |
| `price` | Current price (USD) |
| `msrp` | List / MSRP price (USD) |
| `discountVsMsrp` | Savings vs MSRP if on sale |
| `inStock` | Availability |
| `sku`, `productId` | Identifiers |
| `rating`, `numReviews` | Review data |
| `image` | Product image URL |
| `url` | Product page URL |
| `volumePricing` | (optional) Array of `{quantity, cashWirePrice, cryptoPrice, cardPrice}` tiers |

### Input

- **searchQueries** — one or more search terms (e.g. `silver eagle`, `gold bar`, `krugerrand`)
- **metal** — filter by metal (Any / Gold / Silver / Platinum / Palladium / Copper)
- **productType** — filter by type (Any / Coin / Bar / Round / Proof / Graded)
- **maxResults** — max products per query
- **minPrice / maxPrice** — price range filter (USD)
- **inStockOnly** — only in-stock products
- **scrapeDetails** — fetch each product page for volume pricing tiers (slower)

### Example output

```json
{
  "title": "1 oz American Silver Eagle Coin (Random Year)",
  "metal": "Silver",
  "productType": "Coin",
  "weight": 1,
  "weightLabel": "1 oz",
  "purity": ".999",
  "price": 72.54,
  "msrp": 72.44,
  "inStock": true,
  "sku": "SCASEZ01VAR",
  "image": "https://res.cloudinary.com/preciousmetals/image/upload/.../SCASEZ01VAR_01_obverse",
  "url": "https://www.bgasc.com/product/1-oz-american-silver-eagle-coins-random-year"
### Notes
Data is sourced from BGASC's public product-search API. No login required. For personal/research use — respect BGASC's terms of service.
# Actor input Schema
## `searchQueries` (type: `array`):
Search terms to look up on BGASC (e.g. 'silver eagle', 'gold bar', 'morgan dollar', 'krugerrand'). Leave empty to use the default.
## `metal` (type: `string`):
Filter results by metal.
## `productType` (type: `string`):
Filter results by product type.
## `maxResults` (type: `integer`):
Maximum number of products to scrape per query (each API page returns up to 32).
## `minPrice` (type: `number`):
Filter: only return products at or above this price (USD).
## `maxPrice` (type: `number`):
Filter: only return products at or below this price (USD).
## `inStockOnly` (type: `boolean`):
Only return products that are currently in stock.
## `scrapeDetails` (type: `boolean`):
Fetch each product's detail page to add quantity-based volume pricing tiers (Cash/Wire, Crypto, Card/PayPal). Slower.
## `proxyConfiguration` (type: `object`):
Proxy settings. BGASC works without proxies (the open SearchSpring search API returns 200 directly).
## Actor input object example
```json
{
  "searchQueries": [
    "silver eagle"
  ],
  "metal": "Any",
  "productType": "Any",
  "maxResults": 100,
  "inStockOnly": false,
  "scrapeDetails": false,
  "proxyConfiguration": {
    "useApifyProxy": false
  }
}
```
