## What's an Apify Actor?

Actors are web data automations that power AI and operations. They run on the Apify platform to scrape websites, process data, connect APIs, and automate workflows.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.
Actors are written with capital "A".

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.
The best way to integrate Actors is as follows.

- **AI agents and MCP clients** — the [Apify MCP server](https://docs.apify.com/integrations/mcp.md) at `https://mcp.apify.com` (remote, streamable HTTP, OAuth on first use).
- **Agentic workflows and local Actor development** — [Agent Skills](https://apify.com/.well-known/agent-skills/index.json) with the [Apify CLI](https://docs.apify.com/cli/docs.md): `npm install -g apify-cli`, then `apify login`.
- **JavaScript/TypeScript projects** — the official [JS/TS client](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md): `npm install apify-client`.
- **Python projects** — the official [Python client](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md): `pip install apify-client`.
- **Any other language** — the [REST API](https://docs.apify.com/api/v2.md).

For usage examples, see the [API](#api) section below.

# README

## Mana Pool Scraper - MTG Single Card Prices

Apify Actor for scraping [Mana Pool](https://manapool.com), the Magic: The Gathering singles marketplace that compares prices across many sellers. Uses Mana Pool's JSON API for fast, structured data extraction — no browser rendering required.

### What it does

Search any Magic: The Gathering card by name and get, for every matching printing:

- **Card name** and flavor name
- **Set name**, set code, and collector number
- **Rarity**, border color, layout, color identity, promo types
- **Lowest price** (USD) across all sellers, plus raw cents
- **Total stock** available and **seller count** + list of seller usernames
- **Conditions** available (NM, LP, etc.) and **languages**
- **Finishes**: foil / nonfoil availability
- **Legal formats** (Commander, Modern, Vintage, etc.)
- **Image URL** and direct **product URL** on Mana Pool
- Scryfall ID and Mana Pool card ID for cross-referencing

### Input

```json
{
    "searchQueries": ["ragavan", "black lotus"],
    "maxListings": 50,
    "proxyConfiguration": { "useApifyProxy": false }
}
```

| Field | Type | Description |
|-------|------|-------------|
| `searchQueries` | array | Card names to search. Matching ignores spaces and punctuation (e.g. "black lotus" matches "Black Lotus"). |
| `maxListings` | integer | Max card printings per query. `0` = unlimited. Default `50`. |
| `proxyConfiguration` | object | Optional proxy settings. Not required — the API responds directly. |

### Output

Each dataset item is one card printing. Example:

```json
{
    "searchQuery": "ragavan",
    "name": "Ragavan, Nimble Pilferer",
    "setName": "Modern Horizons 2",
    "setCode": "MH2",
    "collectorNumber": "138",
    "rarity": "mythic",
    "lowestPrice": 41.99,
    "lowestPriceCents": 4199,
    "currency": "USD",
    "totalQuantity": 89,
    "sellerCount": 28,
    "sellers": ["cardtitan", "spellfinder", "toamagic"],
    "conditions": ["LP", "NM"],
    "languages": ["EN"],
    "finishes": ["FO", "NF"],
    "foilAvailable": true,
    "nonfoilAvailable": true,
    "legalFormats": ["modern", "vintage", "commander"],
    "imageUrl": "https://images.manapool.com/products/mtg/cards/normal/front/a/9/a9738cda-adb1-47fb-9f4c-ecd930228c4d.jpg",
    "url": "https://manapool.com/card/mh2/138/ragavan-nimble-pilferer",
    "scryfallId": "a9738cda-adb1-47fb-9f4c-ecd930228c4d"
}
```

### Use cases

- MTG price monitoring and arbitrage (compare Mana Pool vs. TCGPlayer, Card Kingdom, etc.)
- Building a card price database or Discord/price-alert bot
- Deck-cost estimation and collection valuation
- Tracking stock and seller availability for hard-to-find printings

### Notes

Prices are pulled from Mana Pool's public browse API. The `lowestPrice` is the cheapest available copy across all listed sellers for that printing; `sellers` lists which sellers currently stock it.

# Actor input Schema

## `searchQueries` (type: `array`):

List of Magic: The Gathering card names to search on Mana Pool (e.g., 'ragavan', 'black lotus', 'sol ring'). Each query returns a separate set of matching printings. Matching ignores spaces and punctuation.

## `maxListings` (type: `integer`):

Maximum number of card printings to scrape per search query. Set to 0 for unlimited.

## `proxyConfiguration` (type: `object`):

Proxy settings. Mana Pool's JSON API responds directly without proxies, so this can usually be left disabled.

## Actor input object example

```json
{
  "searchQueries": [
    "ragavan",
    "black lotus"
  ],
  "maxListings": 50,
  "proxyConfiguration": {
    "useApifyProxy": false
  }
}
```
