## What's an Apify Actor?

Actors are web data automations that power AI and operations. They run on the Apify platform to scrape websites, process data, connect APIs, and automate workflows.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.
Actors are written with capital "A".

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.
The best way to integrate Actors is as follows.

- **AI agents and MCP clients** — the [Apify MCP server](https://docs.apify.com/integrations/mcp.md) at `https://mcp.apify.com` (remote, streamable HTTP, OAuth on first use).
- **Agentic workflows and local Actor development** — [Agent Skills](https://apify.com/.well-known/agent-skills/index.json) with the [Apify CLI](https://docs.apify.com/cli/docs.md): `npm install -g apify-cli`, then `apify login`.
- **JavaScript/TypeScript projects** — the official [JS/TS client](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md): `npm install apify-client`.
- **Python projects** — the official [Python client](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md): `pip install apify-client`.
- **Any other language** — the [REST API](https://docs.apify.com/api/v2.md).

For usage examples, see the [API](#api) section below.

# README

## Alcampo Spain Scraper

Know current prices, unit prices, and active promotions on any product at Alcampo's Spanish online grocery store (compraonline.alcampo.es) — without checking the site by hand. This scraper turns any Alcampo search or category page into structured product data: product name, brand, price, unit price, and promotion/discount details.

Alcampo is the Spanish arm of Auchan, one of Europe's largest hypermarket chains. Its online shop runs on the Ocado Smart Platform and server-renders every product listing, so this actor reads the page directly — no login, no cookies, no browser required.

### Why use this actor?

If you track grocery prices, build a price-comparison tool, monitor promotions, or feed a market-research dataset, you need structured product data you can rely on. This actor turns any Alcampo search or category page into a table of products with prices in EUR, unit prices, and promotion details.

Typical users:

- Price-intelligence and price-comparison platforms tracking Spanish retail.
- Brands and suppliers monitoring how their products are listed and promoted at Alcampo.
- Market researchers and analysts building grocery datasets across Spain.
- Developers who need a clean product feed instead of scraping HTML themselves.

### How to scrape Alcampo Spain data

1. Open the actor in the Apify Console.
2. Enter a **search query** in Spanish — for example `leche`, `pan` or `aceite`. This returns Alcampo's top 50 matching products.
3. Alternatively, set a **category URL** (e.g. a leaf category like `https://www.compraonline.alcampo.es/categories/leche-entera/OCEntera`) to scrape that category's entire product set instead of a keyword search.
4. Set **maxResults** to how many products you want.
5. Leave the proxy on the default Apify setting and click **Start**.
6. When the run finishes, download the results as JSON, CSV, Excel or feed them to an API.

The actor fetches the server-rendered listing page, parses every product card, then visits each product's page to pick up brand and category details before writing one clean record per product.

### Input

| Field | Type | Required | Description |
|-------|------|----------|--------------|
| `searchQuery` | String | No | Keyword to search in Spanish (default: `leche`). Returns up to 50 results. |
| `categoryUrl` | String | No | Full category leaf URL to scrape its entire product set. Takes priority over `searchQuery`. |
| `maxResults` | Integer | No | Maximum products to return (default: 100) |
| `proxyConfiguration` | Object | No | Apify proxy settings (default Apify proxy works) |

#### Example input

```json
{
    "searchQuery": "leche",
    "maxResults": 20,
    "proxyConfiguration": { "useApifyProxy": true }
}
```

### Output

Each result contains:

| Field | Type | Example |
|-------|------|---------|
| `productName` | String | `"L.R. Leche entera 6 x 1 l."` |
| `brand` | String | `"L.R."` |
| `price` | Number | `5.70` |
| `currency` | String | `"EUR"` |
| `pricePerUnit` | String | `"0,95 € por litro"` |
| `originalPrice` | Number | `6.50` |
| `discount` | String | `"-12%"` |
| `sku` | String | `"99193"` |
| `imageUrl` | String | Primary product image URL |
| `url` | String | Full product page URL |
| `scrapedAt` | String | ISO 8601 timestamp |

`originalPrice` and `discount` are present only on promoted products.

### Example output

```json
{
    "productName": "L.R. Leche entera 6 x 1 l.",
    "brand": "L.R.",
    "price": 5.70,
    "currency": "EUR",
    "pricePerUnit": "0,95 € por litro",
    "sku": "99193",
    "imageUrl": "https://www.compraonline.alcampo.es/images-v3/37ea0506-72ec-4543-93c8-a77bb916ec12/eb6553ac-fc96-4ae4-b258-d0edea51cc71/500x500.jpg",
    "url": "https://www.compraonline.alcampo.es/products/l-r-leche-entera-6-x-1-l/99193",
    "scrapedAt": "2026-07-13T09:00:00.000Z"
}
```

### Notes and limitations

- Prices are the current online-shop prices in EUR.
- **Search caps at 50 results.** Alcampo's search page ignores the `?page=` parameter (verified: page 2 returns the same 50 products as page 1). To scrape more than 50 items for a topic, use `categoryUrl` to target a specific leaf category page, which renders its full product set in one page.
- **EAN / barcode is not exposed** anywhere on the Alcampo storefront (listing or product page), so it is not included in the output.
- `originalPrice` and `discount` appear only when a product is on promotion.

### Cost

Pricing is pay-per-result. A typical search or category run of 20–100 products completes in under a minute, so most runs cost only a few cents in Apify platform usage plus the per-result fee.

# Actor input Schema

## `searchQuery` (type: `string`):

Keyword to search the Alcampo catalogue in Spanish (e.g. 'leche', 'pan', 'aceite'). Returns up to 50 results — Alcampo's search does not paginate past the first 50.

## `categoryUrl` (type: `string`):

Full Alcampo category leaf URL (e.g. https://www.compraonline.alcampo.es/categories/leche-entera/OCEntera) to scrape its ENTIRE product set instead of a keyword search. Takes priority over searchQuery if both are set.

## `maxResults` (type: `integer`):

Maximum number of products to return.

## `proxyConfiguration` (type: `object`):

Apify proxy settings. Default Apify (datacenter) proxy works — Alcampo is served via CloudFront with no anti-bot detected.

## Actor input object example

```json
{
  "searchQuery": "leche",
  "maxResults": 20,
  "proxyConfiguration": {
    "useApifyProxy": true,
    "apifyProxyGroups": [
