## What's an Apify Actor?

Actors are web data automations that power AI and operations. They run on the Apify platform to scrape websites, process data, connect APIs, and automate workflows.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.
Actors are written with capital "A".

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.
The best way to integrate Actors is as follows.

- **AI agents and MCP clients** — the [Apify MCP server](https://docs.apify.com/integrations/mcp.md) at `https://mcp.apify.com` (remote, streamable HTTP, OAuth on first use).
- **Agentic workflows and local Actor development** — [Agent Skills](https://apify.com/.well-known/agent-skills/index.json) with the [Apify CLI](https://docs.apify.com/cli/docs.md): `npm install -g apify-cli`, then `apify login`.
- **JavaScript/TypeScript projects** — the official [JS/TS client](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md): `npm install apify-client`.
- **Python projects** — the official [Python client](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md): `pip install apify-client`.
- **Any other language** — the [REST API](https://docs.apify.com/api/v2.md).

For usage examples, see the [API](#api) section below.

# README

## Zillow Scraper - US Real Estate Listings

Scrape **Zillow** for US real estate. Search by city, state or ZIP code and get every listing with price, beds, baths, size, address, coordinates, home type and photo. Covers homes **for sale, for rent, and recently sold**. **No API key.**

### What you can do with it

- Pull all for-sale listings for a city or ZIP into a spreadsheet
- Build a rental dataset with prices, beds and addresses
- Collect recently sold homes for comparables and market analysis
- Feed listings, prices and coordinates into your own app, map or model

### Input

| Field | What it does | Example |
|-------|--------------|---------|
| **Cities or ZIP codes** | The areas to search. | `Austin, TX`, `Miami, FL`, `90210` |
| **Listing type** | For sale, for rent, or recently sold. | For sale |
| **Zillow search URLs** | Optional. Paste filtered Zillow search URLs directly. | `https://www.zillow.com/homes/for_sale/Austin-TX/` |

### Output

One row per listing:

```json
{
  "zpid": "29563586",
  "url": "https://www.zillow.com/homedetails/.../29563586_zpid/",
  "statusType": "FOR_SALE",
  "price": 269000,
  "priceLabel": "$269,000",
  "address": "8330 Fathom Cir APT 505, Austin, TX 78750",
  "addressCity": "Austin",
  "addressState": "TX",
  "addressZipcode": "78750",
  "beds": 2,
  "baths": 2,
  "area": 1432,
  "homeType": "CONDO",
  "latitude": 30.435587,
  "longitude": -97.77748,
  "taxAssessedValue": 245000,
  "daysOnZillow": 49,
  "imgSrc": "https://photos.zillowstatic.com/.../...jpg",
  "scrapedAt": "2026-07-17T12:00:00.000Z"
}
```

Fill rates on the core for-sale fields (price, beds, baths, size, address, coordinates, home type, URL) are ~100%.

### How it works

Zillow's search pages embed the full listing set as data in the page. This actor reads that data through a US residential connection (used by default), so it returns clean listings without a browser. It paginates automatically through each search.

### Limits

- US only.
- Each search area returns up to about 800 listings (Zillow's cap). For very large metros, search by several ZIP codes to cover more ground.
- The Zestimate and full price history live on each home's detail page and are not included in the search results.
- Rental buildings with many units show the building and address; individual unit prices vary, so a single price may not appear for those.

### Pricing

Pay per result. You only pay for the listings you actually get.

# Actor input Schema

## `searchTerms` (type: `array`):

Search by city and state or by ZIP code. Examples: Austin, TX ; Miami, FL ; 90210 . Each search returns its listings.

## `listingType` (type: `string`):

For sale, for rent, or recently sold.

## `startUrls` (type: `array`):

Optional. Paste Zillow search-results URLs directly (e.g. a filtered search).

## `maxItems` (type: `integer`):

Optional cap on total listings. Leave blank for everything (Zillow returns up to ~800 per search area).

## `proxyConfiguration` (type: `object`):

Zillow requires a US residential proxy (used by default). Leave as is.

## Actor input object example

```json
{
  "searchTerms": [
    "Austin, TX"
  ],
  "listingType": "for_sale",
  "startUrls": [],
  "proxyConfiguration": {
    "useApifyProxy": true,
    "apifyProxyGroups": [
      "RESIDENTIAL"
    ],
    "apifyProxyCountryCode": "US"
  }
}
```
