## What's an Apify Actor?

Actors are web data automations that power AI and operations. They run on the Apify platform to scrape websites, process data, connect APIs, and automate workflows.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.
Actors are written with capital "A".

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.
The best way to integrate Actors is as follows.

- **AI agents and MCP clients** — the [Apify MCP server](https://docs.apify.com/integrations/mcp.md) at `https://mcp.apify.com` (remote, streamable HTTP, OAuth on first use).
- **Agentic workflows and local Actor development** — [Agent Skills](https://apify.com/.well-known/agent-skills/index.json) with the [Apify CLI](https://docs.apify.com/cli/docs.md): `npm install -g apify-cli`, then `apify login`.
- **JavaScript/TypeScript projects** — the official [JS/TS client](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md): `npm install apify-client`.
- **Python projects** — the official [Python client](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md): `pip install apify-client`.
- **Any other language** — the [REST API](https://docs.apify.com/api/v2.md).

For usage examples, see the [API](#api) section below.

# README

## npm Package Maintainer Leads & Email Finder

Find npm package and open-source maintainer leads with repositories, homepages, public business emails, and developer-tool outreach scores.

This Actor is for companies selling developer tools, APIs, security, monitoring, documentation, CI/CD, hosting, and open-source partnership services.

By default it does not include npm maintainer emails, because those can be personal. It enriches package homepages and repositories for business contact and community signals instead. Maintainer emails can be enabled explicitly.

The output is shaped for developer-tool sales workflows: each saved row includes a primary email, primary social URL, buyer persona, recommended offer, outreach summary, lead score, repository, homepage, and npm score.

### Fast start

Run a small npm keyword search first:

```json
{
  "searchTerms": ["shopify", "stripe"],
  "maxPackagesPerTerm": 5,
  "maxPackages": 10,
  "enrichPackageLinks": true,
  "includeMaintainerEmails": false,
  "includePersonalEmails": false,
  "requireBusinessEmail": false,
  "minLeadScore": 35
}
```

### Example output

Each saved row connects npm package traction to maintainer or business contact signals:

```json
{
  "packageName": "example-package",
  "npmUrl": "https://www.npmjs.com/package/example-package",
  "repositoryUrl": "https://github.com/example/example-package",
  "homepage": "https://example.com",
  "primaryEmail": "support@example.com",
  "primaryBuyerPersona": "developer security SaaS",
  "primaryRecommendedOffer": "Open-source security or dependency risk outreach",
  "outreachSummary": "example-package | contact: support@example.com | offer: Open-source security or dependency risk outreach | npm score: 0.94",
  "emails": ["support@example.com"],
  "leadScore": 61,
  "suggestedAngles": ["Developer tool partnership", "Security or monitoring outreach"]
}
```

### Pricing

This Actor is configured for pay-per-event pricing at USD 0.01 per saved npm package lead.

Free Apify-plan users can preview up to 1 saved lead per run. Paid Apify-plan users can request larger runs and receive the full eligible output, subject to their run charge limit.

### Saved tasks

- `npm developer tool prospects`: general developer-tool and API sales prospecting.
- `npm ecommerce package leads`: ecommerce-related npm package maintainers.
- `npm security package prospects`: security/auth/dependency package leads.
- `npm CI/CD developer workflow prospects`: CI/CD, testing, deployment, and workflow package leads.

### Local run

```powershell
node .\src\main.js --input .\sample-input.json
