## Pricing

from $3.40 / 1,000 page checkeds

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.
Since this Actor supports Apify Store discounts, the price gets lower the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

Actors are web data automations that power AI and operations. They run on the Apify platform to scrape websites, process data, connect APIs, and automate workflows.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.
Actors are written with capital "A".

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.
The best way to integrate Actors is as follows.

- **AI agents and MCP clients** — the [Apify MCP server](https://docs.apify.com/integrations/mcp.md) at `https://mcp.apify.com` (remote, streamable HTTP, OAuth on first use).
- **Agentic workflows and local Actor development** — [Agent Skills](https://apify.com/.well-known/agent-skills/index.json) with the [Apify CLI](https://docs.apify.com/cli/docs.md): `npm install -g apify-cli`, then `apify login`.
- **JavaScript/TypeScript projects** — the official [JS/TS client](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md): `npm install apify-client`.
- **Python projects** — the official [Python client](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md): `pip install apify-client`.
- **Any other language** — the [REST API](https://docs.apify.com/api/v2.md).

For usage examples, see the [API](#api) section below.

# README

## Social Preview Checker — Open Graph & Twitter Card Audit

See exactly how a link will look before it goes out — this Open Graph checker and Twitter
Card validator resolves the social card preview any platform will show. Point this Actor
at a list of URLs and get back the headline, description and image each platform pulls
when the link is shared on Telegram, WhatsApp, X, LinkedIn, Slack, Facebook and Discord,
plus a 0–100 share score and a plain-English list of what's broken. Pure HTML-head
parsing — no browser, no login.

### What you get

- **Preview likely to render** — the exact headline, text and image any platform will
  pull, with the Open Graph → Twitter Card → `<title>` fallback chain already resolved.
- **Open Graph tags** — `og:title`, `og:description`, `og:image`, `og:url`, `og:type`,
  `og:site_name`.
- **Twitter Card tags** — `twitter:card`, `twitter:title`, `twitter:description`,
  `twitter:image`.
- **Image reachability check** — a live HEAD/GET request confirming the preview image
  actually loads, with its content type and size.
- **Share score (0–100)** across 7 checks: title, description, image, image reachable,
  Twitter card, site name, favicon.
- **Issues list** — concrete problems such as *"og:image is not HTTPS — many platforms
  silently drop non-HTTPS images"* or *"og:title is 84 chars — may be truncated"*.
- Runs on Apify: schedule it, monitor it, call it from the API, export to JSON/CSV/Excel
  or push straight into your own pipeline.

### Who is this for

- **Marketers & content teams** — verify every landing page and blog post renders a real
  preview card before spending budget driving traffic to it
- **SEO & growth teams** — bulk-audit a whole sitemap for missing or broken Open Graph
  tags
- **Agencies** — catch a client site shipping with a blank or broken share card, in a
  client-facing audit
- **Devs & QA** — regression-test Open Graph / Twitter Card tags after a CMS migration or
  redesign

### How to run it

1. Click **Try for free** — no card needed on the free plan.
2. Paste your pages into **URLs**, one per line — `example.com/article` or a full
   `https://` URL both work.
3. Press **Start**. Results land in the dataset — read them in the UI, pull them from the
   API, or have a webhook push them onward.

### Pricing

Pay-per-event: **$0.005 per run start + $0.004 per result**. No monthly seat, no minimum.
100 URLs cost about **$0.41**; 1,000 URLs about **$4.01**.

A URL that could not be checked is still returned, with `found: false` and the reason —
and it is **not** charged for. You pay for answers, not for attempts.

### Input

| Field | Required | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| `urls` | yes | Page URLs to check. Up to 100 per run. |
| `maxConcurrency` | no | How many to check at once, 1–50 (default 10). |

```json
{
    "urls": ["apify.com", "github.com", "stripe.com"],
    "maxConcurrency": 10
}
```

### Output

One row per URL. This is a real row from a real run:

```
| Field | What it means |
|---|---|
| `shareScore` | 0–100 across 7 checks (see FAQ) |
| `previewLikely` | The resolved headline/text/image/siteName after the OG → Twitter → `<title>` fallback chain |
| `imageCheck.exists` | The preview image URL actually resolves with a live request |
| `issues` | Human-readable findings, empty when nothing is wrong |
| `found` | `false` means the check failed; the row says why and is not billed |
### FAQ
**Does it render JavaScript?** No — it fetches the raw HTML and parses the `<head>` only.
That is exactly what social-media crawlers (Telegram, WhatsApp, Facebook, X) do — they
don't run your JS either, so this is a truer test than opening the page in a browser.
**What goes into the share score?** Seven checks: title, description, image present,
image actually reachable, Twitter Card, `og:site_name`, and favicon. The score is the
percentage passed.
**Does it check if the image actually loads?** Yes — a live HEAD (falling back to GET)
request confirms the preview image resolves, and flags a broken or unreachable image
separately from a missing one.
**Is this legal?** Yes — it reads publicly served HTML `<head>` tags and makes a standard
HTTP request to the image URL, the same requests any browser or link-unfurling bot makes.
**Can I call it from an AI agent?** Yes — standard Apify Actor, callable from the Apify
API, the SDK, or the Apify MCP server.
**What this is NOT.** It does not post to any platform, take a real screenshot of the
rendered card, or check link safety/malware. It answers one question — will this link
show a real preview card — and answers it from the same head tags every platform actually
reads.
