Postcards from Belgium: Antwerp
The last four days of our trip were spent in this beautiful country
The end of our Viking River Cruise was in Antwerp, Belgium. We still had more time left on land after the cruise in Belgium by staying for three more nights, with a Viking extension in Bruges.
On the way from Antwerp to Bruges, we visited Ghent. Then, we spent the day in Flanders and Ypres, ending our trip with a full day in Bruges that included a canal cruise and a Belgian chocolate-making workshop where we learned to make pralines.

The entire trip, from Amsterdam through the rivers and towns of Holland, was wonderful. But we really enjoyed Belgium at the end. Our accommodations at Dukes Palace Hotel, a five-star establishment, lived up to its ranking.
Never have we had such an extensive breakfast or a large bathroom in a hotel. We’d definitely recommend a stay there. Plus, it was within walking distance to everything in town. A great choice by Viking, in our opinion.
