when a piece of tangerine
is separated from its body,
it has become an individual entity
independent completely,
however, still the same between
segments of other tangerine.
the same fitted pieces separated
never again to be fleshed in togetherness
but still is similar in sweetness —

dividedly whole.
the philosopher plato believed
that humans had two heads and were four limbed
creatures perfected into completeness
smitten by the gods for their ambitiousness
to be separated into emptiness,
to walk the earth infinitely,
to locate a fraction fractured precisely,
to live with the flesh synchronously beating
in separate fragments —
dividedly whole again.
