Unexpected Again: The Sky Has Fallen Once More — At Under 25 MB, Even AutoCAD Has Been Recreated
Lately, the whole "AI recreates software" trend has been getting more and more lively.
In a previous article, we just covered people using AI to recreate mature software like Photoshop, Acrobat, and Word. This time, they've set their sights on CAD.
What makes CAD hard isn't drawing a few lines — it's dimensional constraints, geometric relationships, layer management, and finally, producing engineering drawings.
That's exactly what this GitHub project, CADCraft, is about.
It's an open-source CAD application built in Rust by the ArtCraft team and community developers, with its overall operation style modeled after AutoCAD.

Having taken a look at it, I can say it's still far from being a full replacement for AutoCAD.
