Remembering You
In the Glow of Fireflies
Last night
I walked with fireflies.
They came back
to tell me
you’re still here
Listening…
Endlessly patient
as you were on earth.
I see you both bobbing
next to me on my way home
Above the grass
or in your heaven,
With a quiet joy
so tender
Life doesn’t seem a burden.
Each year they return
my mind rushes to you
Saying a prayer for forgiveness
— for fireflies
Wishing…
our time together
could last longer.
For Zach J. Payne and @Rose CG. Eternal summers of memory.
