Grasp
You slipped
I fell
They didn’t even blink
You’re gone
And I’m not
I can’t believe you slipped out of my grasp
You’re gone
And I’m not
You’re gone
Gone
Three years have gone
Three long
Painful years
I look down every day
I see you there
You slipped out of my grasp
You’re gone
And I’m not
Now I see a strange
Dangling from the edge
And I see you
But it’s not you
They’ve been here a while
I can tell by the scars
They’re hands are all bloody
And I’m just her staring
What if my grasp is to wet

To slick
To shaky
They’ll fall
They’ll fall like you did
You’re gone
And I’m not
You’re gone
Gone
The rain starts to patter
They’re loosing time
So I reach my hand
And they grab
My head is throbbing
My hands are shaking
And they’re still slipping
Just like you slipped from my grasp
What if they do to
Just like you
Gone
But I’m not
They get up shaking as they cradle into my arms
It’s a child
A dear child
No older than 12
I learned something that day
You may be gone
But I’m not
And now
Neither are they.
