Reading Versus Writing

Which Is Better? Here are the Questions That Led to an Answer

My friends on the platform, today I come with a question that — among other things — I have frequently asked myself.

It is true, I read and write every day. And it is not just me; I see many others on the platform doing the same, yet I often ask myself (I don’t know about the rest of you):

Which is better: reading or writing?

If you have also asked yourself about this, that is fine. I invite you to share your perspective so that we, as a community, can reach a common understanding.

For my part, the answer that comes to mind is: reading is better than writing.

I ask myself again:

Why?

I answer: Reading is better than writing because:

  1. It broadens my understanding of many things.

2. I do not spend as much time on it as I do on writing.

3. I do not apply as much energy as I do on writing.

4. I use only my eyes and brain, unlike writing, which in addition to that requires the use of hands, a pen, and sometimes a computer.

5. I do not need writing tools (like those mentioned in point 4 above) — perhaps only reading glasses and only if I have eye sight problem.

6. I can even read when walking or lying on bed
