More than 5,000 years ago, in ancient Mesopotamia, People were already buying and selling land.

The Sumerians recorded property transactions on clay tablets, mentioning boundaries, ownership, and value.

No digital signatures.

No paperwork.

No brokers.

Just one thing that still defines real estate today: 𝐓𝐫𝐮𝐬𝐭

What fascinates me is this: Even after thousands of years, the foundation of this industry has not changed.

Back then, land meant: Security. Power. Legacy. And today? It still does. The materials have evolved. The regulations have evolved. The scale has evolved.

But the emotional and financial significance of owning land remains timeless.

Even the Code of Hammurabi (1750 BCE) had laws around:

  • Property ownership
  • Tenant rights
  • Construction accountability
  • Dispute resolution

Which tells us something powerful: Real estate has always been serious business.

As someone who has spent years building homes, communities, and investment opportunities, one thing continues to stand out to me: People don’t just invest in property for returns.

They invest in:

Stability.

Future security.

Family legacy.

And the pride of ownership.

That hasn’t changed in 5,000 years.

And I don’t think it ever will.

Because cities change… Land remains one of the few assets that carries both financial value and emotional meaning.

𝐈𝐟 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐨𝐰𝐧 𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐚𝐧𝐲𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐡𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲, 𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐰𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐢𝐭 𝐛𝐞?

From clay tablets to digital registries, Real estate may have modernised. But its real currency has always remained the same: Trust.
