I Look Forward to Nothing

I have the kind of personality that looks forward to nothing.

Every day I look forward to 15 minutes in the morning of doing nothing but drinking coffee. I look out at the trees and have no agenda.

I might think about things, but I don’t plan to think about things. What I really look forward to is the nothing, and I look forward to it at the start of every day.

I also look forward to nothing at the end of my day, by which I mean going to sleep. Looking forward to the nothingness of sleep at the end of each day makes everything else bearable.

At the end of the day, I love getting under my covers and slipping into nothingness. I play a little on my phone, read a little on my Kindle, then get sleepy and close my eyes, drifting to Elysium.

Ahhh…nothing.

My life may sound boring but it’s not. It’s peaceful, at least a couple of times a day.

I have nothing to look forward to each day (twice a day!), and I love it.
