After seamless QuickBooks eBay integration, sellers can easily manage their inventory, and orders as well as streamline many business operations. This integration process has been a game-changer for many eCommerce businesses as it has enhanced their business growth.

Before integrating an eBay account with QuickBooks Commerce, it is important that sellers should properly review their Product SKUs on eBay. It is done because QuickBooks Commerce uses SKUs to identify and match inventory between eBay and QuickBooks Commerce. It is recommended to every seller as it facilitates accurate inventory updates. It also streamlines order management processes. Therefore, every seller should log in to their eBay account and ensure that each product and its variants have unique SKUs.

Steps for a successful QuickBooks eBay integration

The entire process of QuickBooks eBay integration can be divided into 4 steps: -

1. Installation Process

2. Dashboard

3. Settings

4. Errors

Steps to Install the eBay App

1. First of all, you should go to QuickBooks Commerce app, and then go to the main navigation bar and then click on ‘Browse Apps’

2. Next, you should click on eCommerce and then select ‘eBay built by QuickBooks Commerce’

3. Now, you should click the ‘Install App’ button

4. Subsequently, you will be requested to connect your eBay store.

5. Thereafter, you should select your eBay site Country from the drop-down menu and then click ‘Continue’

6. In case, if sellers are selling their products on eBay in several countries then they will have to connect the respective eBay sales channels to QuickBooks Commerce. This step is performed to identify the place from where orders are coming.

7. Next, sellers are advised to set up connections for each and every country he is doing business (one sales channel per country). Subsequently, they will be redirected to the eBay homepage where they have to Sign In.

8. In the next step, a pop-up screen will request confirmation in allowing their eBay store to integrate with QuickBooks Commerce.

9. Next, you should click ‘I Agree’.

10. Finally, the users will be redirected back to QuickBooks Commerce to complete their installation with the help of the set-up wizard.

1. Price List and Locations Sync

By QuickBooks Commerce installation wizard, users are supposed to

a. either select a pre-existing price list and stock location for their channel,

b. or create a new price list and stock location.

The users should note that the name of the sales channels will be used in the freshly created price list and stock locations.

The freshly created or selected price list will be used to fill the prices of imported products on eBay as well as in syncing updated prices in the future.

In case, if no price list is selected then QuickBooks Commerce will analytically use the default price list.

Next, the freshly created or selected stock location will be used to prepare and adjust stock levels of imported products from eBay. It will also be used for syncing updated stock levels in the future.

In case, if no stock location is selected, then QuickBooks Commerce will systematically use your account’s Default Primary Location, which is located under Defaults Settings.

On Main Navigation Bar, you are supposed to go to Settings and then click on Configurations and your Default Settings will appear.

2. Product SKU

In Product SKU, the installation wizard will be supporting you with information related to the best usage of SKU aliasing capability of managing different SKUs across multiple sales channels.

In case, if users are setting up their own QuickBooks Commerce account with a single eBay Channel or managing the same SKUs across different channels then they should skip this step.

Now, you should click ‘Confirm’ and it will complete your installation successfully. Subsequently, users will be redirected to their channel’s Dashboard tab.

Finally, QuickBooks Commerce is successfully connected with your eBay store but there is no synchronization for products or orders that have occurred with eBay.

3. Dashboard

The Dashboard showcases operational and analytical data of your eBay store’s connection strength. It also exhibits its configurations with QuickBooks Commerce.

It will also display loads of health checks which will guide users to troubleshoot as well as fix many issues that might delay updates or order imports.

After clicking on ‘Re-run Checks’ button, users can request to re-run the diagnosis and can refresh their screen browser tab. It is done until the diagnostics are done appropriately. Every day, diagnostics are run on QuickBooks Commerce for your channel to confirm that you get updated results on your channel dashboard.

4. Settings

The tab Setting consists of two main sections- Settings and Sync Options that help users to specify configurations for their eBay store and includes defaults that can be modified.

The Settings section encompasses 6 main configurations and they are:

Channel Name

Users are supposed to assign a custom name for their channel to identify them within their app.

Default Tax Treatment

If any new orders are effectively imported into QuickBooks Commerce then they will have tax treatment set to whatever value it is selected (Exclusive or Inclusive).

Default Price List

If price sync is not disactivated, then any changes made to Variant prices or selection of a different default price list would be generating price updates to the linked eBay variants.

In case, if price under the default price list is nil or O then eBay will not be getting any notifications. It is done for preventing any type of accidental zeroing out of price on eBay.

Default Stock Location

In this type of setting, any order that gets imported into QuickBooks from your eBay store will be assigned to the selected location. During the import of the product, stock of your eBay product will also get assigned to this selected location. If stock level sync is not inactivated then any type of stock level changes done on the location or selection of a different default stock location would activate stock level updates to the linked eBay variants.

Default Tax for Orders

The orders which get effectively imported into QuickBooks Commerce will be using the tax amounts. These tax amounts are provided by eBay to calculate the tax rates applied to the orders. In case, if the tax type gets selected then QuickBooks Commerce will be applying the selected tax rate to the product line items for newly imported orders.

Default Shipping Tax for Orders

After the proper selection of the tax type by the user, QuickBooks Commerce will be applying the selected tax rate to shipping line items of the recently imported orders. The Sync Options section contains 5 options that control the disabling of syncs for different objects. They are also checked by default every time the channel gets newly installed.

5. Errors

In case, if users are installing a new channel then it is advised that they should resolve all errors in the dashboard before enabling any sync between their eBay and QuickBooks Commerce accounts. For viewing a list of all processing or operational errors, users are advised to navigate to the Errors tab. It will showcase their error logs. To conclude, everything in your eBay is effectively synced with your QuickBooks Commerce account without any errors.
