Do It Scared

“Just make it exist first; you can make it good later.” A popular sentence among beginner artists. Actually, it also applies to anything besides art.

Anything when you're overwhelmed to do something.

A thing you’re sure will lead you to a better life or even a brighter future. Or even something simple, like a new hobby or a new experience.

Do it scared.

Because life is too short to be too overwhelmed.

Remember how old people say that time won’t wait for you?

I’m not a big fan of old people's ideology, but I need to agree with this one, painfully.

Just do it scared.

Waiting for the right time?

I’m afraid to tell, some things might never have “the right time”.

Worse, you didn’t even realise “the right time” has already slipped through your fingers cause you’re too busy to overthink.

“Our life is a miracle. Being able to wake up in the morning is already a miracle. Because the possibility of death is higher, yet we’re still able to breathe despite all,”

— said Indonesia’s popular doctor, Dr Gia Pratama.

In fact, humans are so easy to die.

I’m a witness to how my dad passed away when we were still talking casually in the morning.

Like we always have tomorrow.

It’s unbelievable. I hate it.

Life is miserable, and yet we’re still here.

It’s cute how we're still fighting to stay alive when the world is basically burning down piece by piece.

So, just do it scared.

Everything you wanna do. Everything you wanna learn. Everything you wanna try.

We will die anyway.

As long as it doesn’t bring harm or disadvantage, as long as it can bring you happiness, especially to you and the one you love, what is stopping you?

“What if it fails?”

So what?

Strangers will forget your face anyway.

Your name will disappear in 60 years or less.

People will die.

We will die.

Some things are worth nothing to lose.

Also, failure is the best teacher.

If you need to, calculate the considerations. List the disadvantages you’ve been afraid to. Don’t forget to count the goodness that may come afterwards.

It’s better to do it scared than regret never trying.

It’s better to know you may not fit in, moving out, and learning other things you’re interested in.

It’s better when you know you have done it. That you have tried.

It’s way better if you actually love it and happily stick with it.

Life is too short to be jailed in your own mind.

Maybe we will die tomorrow.

Who knows?

Since no one knows, why don’t we cherish the time that lingers with us at the moment?

Maybe we will live long.

Long enough to do everything crazy in this world.

Long enough to actually see our own brightest, sincere smile.

Long enough to be the person we always wanted to be.

Until then, do it.
