Sweden’s Bombs Were Built in 1985
A viral video is circulating. It opens on an eleven-year-old Swedish boy posting that he can’t wait for his first dead body. Then comes the postcard: the land of blondes, the moose on the road at 3 a.m., IKEA. Then the bombs.
The narrator promises no flag and no side. Both the left and the right are lying to you, he says, and only he will give you the data straight. No party pays him.
It is a polished piece of work. Most of its numbers are real. And it tells the wrong story.
Sweden’s violence is a debt story, told as an immigration story. The bombs going off in Stockholm were not assembled in 2015, when the refugees came. The conditions that built them were laid down in 1985, when Sweden let its banks off the leash. Everything that followed; the crash, the bailout, the austerity, the retreat of the state from its own suburbs, made the vacuum the gangs now fill. The video starts the clock thirty years too late, and that’s no editing accident. It is the whole trick.
No paywall, no sponsors, no agenda. If you’d like to keep it that way, buy me a coffee.
The numbers are real. The story is not.
Let’s give the video its due. Sweden did take in more than 160,000 asylum seekers in 2015. Shootings did peak at around 390 in 2022. Confirmed…
