Introduction

Modern SRE teams rely on multiple tools to investigate production incidents. Engineers often switch between GitHub, Datadog, PagerDuty, and external status platforms to gather operational context, making troubleshooting slow and fragmented.

KORA-SRE (Knowledge-Oriented Reliability Engine) was built to simplify this process. At its core, Coral serves as the unified knowledge layer, enabling operational data to be accessed through structured queries and tables rather than interacting directly with individual APIs. By leveraging Coral for data retrieval and correlation, KORA-SRE brings deployment information, monitoring signals, incident data, and service health into a single platform for faster and more efficient investigations.

Why Coral?

Coral serves as the knowledge layer of KORA-SRE, enabling a consistent way to access operational data across systems.

Rather than building custom integrations for every workflow, KORA-SRE leverages Coral to retrieve and query information from connected sources. This simplifies data access, reduces integration complexity, and provides a foundation for unified incident investigations.

KORA-SRE acts as a centralized incident investigation platform that brings together operational signals from multiple systems. Coral serves as the knowledge layer, enabling consistent access to deployment, monitoring, incident, and service health data.

By correlating information across connected sources, KORA-SRE provides engineers with a unified view of ongoing incidents and supports faster root cause analysis.

Coral serves as the primary knowledge layer within KORA-SRE. To retrieve deployment and repository information, KORA-SRE executes Coral SQL queries against connected data sources. This provides a unified and consistent way to access operational data without directly interacting with individual APIs.

KORA-SRE uses Coral as a unified knowledge layer for incident investigations. GitHub is integrated as a live Coral source using a Personal Access Token (PAT), enabling real-time access to commits and deployment data.

Due to the lack of production environments, Datadog, PagerDuty, and StatusGator are represented through realistic mock APIs that simulate monitoring, incident management, and dependency-status workflows.

KORA-SRE correlates deployment information from GitHub with incident signals, external dependency status, operational metrics, and investigation timelines. This creates a single pane of glass for root-cause analysis. GitHub deployment data is retrieved through Coral, while PagerDuty, Datadog, and StatusGator data are provided through mock APIs that simulate production environments.
