please know i didn’t mean to allow myself
to let myself become emotionally involved
believe me when i say I’ve fallen in love with you
cause that was the last thing I wanted to do
please don’t take this as a slight or dig
because there is absolutely nothing wrong you
i’ve jumped to an assumptive conclusion
and absolutely no consideration was afforded to you
if i hadn’t called you that second night
maybe i wouldn’t have become so attached
well i went and called i you and i am.
now you’re the itch i cannot scratch
shared a meal, some music and lively conversation
sat and watched the lights of the distant city wink
turned the lights down really low and manipulated time
enjoying each other’s flesh, in the moment, in synch
the early hours found us both fast asleep
you were curled up in my arms
thinking back, it was probably then
i became enamoured by you and your charms
