Nike Air Force 1 — “Easter Basket” released April 17

An “Easter Basket” Air Force 1 with basket-woven paneling and fun details woven into the tongue tags and printed on the insoles and wrapping paper. Nothing I need in my personal collection but this is the level of execution and attention to detail I would like to see from all holiday-themed releases.

Dover Street Market x Brain Dead x adidas Bowling released April 17

Brain Dead’s revival of the archival adidas Bowling returns a year later, this time in collaboration with Dover Street Market, who have swapped on rubber soles in place of the original slick bowling soles. It’s an elegant silhouette that Brain Dead has elevated into almost a dress shoe. I loved the initial Brain Dead release and desperately tried to get a pair, only for the release to shift to a raffle that I never heard back from. I love these as well, but Dover Street Market released online at 8am ET instead of the usual 11am like they do in London and I missed out. On to the next one.

Air Jordan 1 Low OG — “Rookie of the Year” releasing April 18

Another week, another Jordan 1 Retro+ colorway getting reissued as a low-top. This time it’s the “Rookie of the Year” colorway from 2018. Like I said in both previous entries in Cody’s Comments I remember the days a decade ago when Jordan 1 Lows were undesirable, but those days are long gone. It’s a decent colorway, although more fitting for fall than spring. If you’re going for a pair pray that you avoid the quality control issues that this production run was apparently plagued with.

Nike KD 18 — Clear Jade releasing April 18

Kevin Durant’s eighteenth Nike signature shoe debuts this week (I’m not counting the 1,988 pairs of Black Labels as the debut), just in time for the Suns to not make the playoffs. Following the Air Max Plus-turned-basketball-shoe design of the KD 17, the KD 18 does the same but using the Air Terra Humara, so I guess turning archive silhouettes into basketball shoes is KD’s signature line now. I’d rather just wear a pair of Air Terra Humaras, but at least it isn’t the same copy-and-pasted medial Swoosh dominated design that almost all of Nike Basketball signatures follow today.

END. x adidas BW Army — “Fish Shop” releasing April 18

adidas’ engagement bait silhouette (you should see people fight back and forth on TikTok about this being a Margiela rip off) is back in collaboration with END., celebrating England’s chip shops with a fish-themed take on the timeless army trainer. The theming is perfectly executed, allowing the details to shine through without overpowering the simplicity of the silhouette’s design and adding great packaging and extras to hammer it home. My only gripe is the gum sole, which should always be translucent instead of the solid gum they went with.

Kith x adidas Football Spring 2025 Collection releasing April 18

Kith and adidas Football reunite for a 47-piece collaborative collection including nine footwear releases across four silhouettes: the Koresco National, the Predator 2002 IC, the Predator Megaride, and a Predator Mania football boot. Like most of Kith’s recent releases, any footwear included in these larger collections tends to be a basic addition to the overall aesthetic and never a standout piece from what started as a shoe store selling unique footwear. If you miss out on the Predator Megaride you can get a pair without the Kith branding direct from adidas next week.

adidas Anthony Edwards 1 Low — “Tie Dye” releasing April 19

The best basketball shoe on the market continues its year and a half long run by bringing last year’s 3SSB player-exclusive “Tie Dye” colorway from the AE 1 to the AE 1 Low, this time getting a full release. It’s fun, it’s loud, it’s releasing on Easter weekend, and Ant is playing LeBron and Luka in the first round of the playoffs. Personally if I was going to add another vibrant AE 1 to my collection (which I’m considering), I think I would prefer the “Year of the Snake” colorway over this, but it’s still an enjoyable colorway.

CLOT x adidas Silk Gazelle Collection releasing April 19

Edison Chen delivers another collection of collaborations from CLOT and adidas Originals, this time featuring a crepe-soled Gazelle and a collection of crocheted clothing. Now that we’re a year into the CLOT x adidas partnership there seems to be a divide in the product line: unique projects like the ripple-soled Superstar and espadrille-soled Gazelle, and more basic projects like last November’s beaded Gazelles. This release falls on the side of the latter.

Chevy x Nike Devin Booker Pack releasing April 22

Chevrolet rides shotgun with Nike for a two-pack of collaborations with Devin Booker inspired by his 1972 Chevy K5 Blazer, including Booker’s Book 1 and… a Blazer. This collaboration is on-the-nose, but it’s fun and a good direction for Nike Basketball to be heading after years of oversaturation and colorways lacking creativity. If this was a BMW collaboration I’d be buying both pairs.

That’s enough yapping for this week. Apologies for my absence for the last two weekend’s of releases. As always feel free to tell me I’m wrong on Twitter or Bluesky or Instagram, and until next time (next week, hopefully) this has been GTFan712. Thanks for reading.
