Iron Infusions
Hey everyone! Sorry I went rogue for a while. I had a sudden medical emergency and had to take some time. I am still recovering, but doing much better.
I had been feeling extremely tired for months and thought it was my meds making me dizzy and feeling weak because those are known side effects. I was also sleeping a lot more too. Turned out my iron was so low I almost ended up needing a transfusion. My numbers were so low I could have had a precarious incident, but luckily I didn’t.
The last couple weeks I had two iron infusions and finally not dizzy anymore or feeling as weak. I am also on iron and vitamin C supplements until my iron stores and iron are fully back to good, maybe longer if needed. I need to contact my doctor soon to find out when follow up will be for bloodwork. I read it can be at least a month out to 3 months depending.
Anyway, thanks for sticking around! I’ll post some more fun things very soon!
Also a side note:
Our healthcare really needs help. Long story short, having to change insurance 3 times this year really made it difficult to stay with any doctor, and get consistent care for my back issues, and getting my check ups. It also made for insane wait times to be seen as a new patient over and over. In the US depending on the insurance, depends on what doctors are covered so I’ve had to bounce around a lot. I do finally have all my appointments lined up so I can get into a new spine doctor hopefully in February or March. What a crazy year this has been.
