Dan Riga

Dan Riga is an advocate of Objectivism — the philosophy of Ayn Rand.

Philosophy, the mother of all the sciences, has fallen on hard times. It now seems the professors of philosophy teach that men can be certain of nothing. Such childish “reasoning” is of course a blatant contradiction because the sentence invalidates the original premise. Much like people who say there are no absolutes, make use of an absolute. In better times the job of the philosopher was to teach men how to think.

“Teach men the right philosophy and their minds will do the rest,” wrote Ayn Rand. To have invented a completely comprehensive view of existence is a unique achievement that to this day is not generally acknowledged. The only thing holding men back is their fear of attacking the dominant moral code – namely altruism.

With the exception of Ancient Greece and the Enlightenment, man has always held a subordinate role to the state. Only Objectivism without reserve places man in the centre of society. The function of the state is to protect man’s rights, not redistribute his wealth. Objectivism is thusly man-centric.

Having established the fidelity of Objectivism it’s only a small step for mankind to acknowledge its universality. Indigenous, Christians, Baha’ism, conservativism are all false when compared to Objectivism. It is not arrogance for any Objectivist to say that people can only be happy if they follow my philosophy. It is time for men to shed all notions of tribalism and discover the true nature of individualism – or egoism.

One expression of self-hatred is to deny what is obviously true. To a rational man Objectivism is self-evident. Such self-hatred is often projected unto all men because the rejection of reason only leads to frustration for his life, other men, and the world itself. The decision to boycott thinking is the ultimate form of self-destruction.

Here for the first time in history is the means of finally uniting mankind under one banner: Objectivism. The doctrine that each individual is sacrosanct will ensure no one is ever sacrificed against their will. With universal free trade men will have to trade value for value and the use of force will be outlawed among consensual adults. Hatred of others will disappear when men embrace the absolutism of rational thinking.

Let us never lose sight that the ideal society is somehow a pipe dream, that virtue is impractical and the capacity to dream limited to the young. Evil is impotent and only succeeds when the good compromises with it.
