Second Quarter Goals: How Spring Growth Helped Me Adjust My Expectations
Spring always feels energizing. We have brighter light, longer days, and we naturally want to refresh our routines and spaces. The second quarter goals are often where quarterly goals meet real life, and this year was no different.
If you’re just joining me, I am doing a series of four or five blogs (I haven’t decided yet) to review the ways in which setting quarterly goals instead of making one grand New Year’s Resolution can work for you. You can read last week’s post about the first quarter of 2025 here so you can catch up.
What My Second Quarter Goals Were
My intention was to focus on making progress in the projects that I had started in the first quarter. I worked on strengthening habits that were still solidifying from Q1 and making small physical improvements in places that felt cluttered or chaotic.
Did it go as planned? Not entirely.
And yet? I made meaningful progress.
What Q2 Taught Me
- Flexibility is not failure. Adjusting goals mid-quarter is a sign of paying attention to what is working, what is not working, and most importantly, not giving up.
- Boundaries matter. Especially when commitments multiply.
