Let’s see if we survive — or go extinct!

1 min readJun 26, 2025

I’ve been programming since I was 12, which means I’ve been fighting with machines for 38 years trying to make them do what I tell them to :D

Since then, the boogeyman has always been: “Why waste your time on that? Soon they’ll program themselves — you’ll just say what you want, and they’ll do it.”

Until now, I’d never seen anything that came close. Many “no code” attempts, sure — but none truly effective.

Today, that changed.

For the first time, I saw a machine generate clear, well-structured code, write tests, run them, read the results, and adjust the code accordingly. It was like watching a YouTube tutorial of someone coding: “Let’s create a function… now a file to test it… there’s an error… I found it… let’s tweak the function… now it works!”

My only job was to hit “accept” to run the files (a fair enough safeguard if you don’t want to wipe your drive due to a “mistake”).

I’m overwhelmed — but happy!

Someone will say: “You’re out of a job now!!!”

To which I’ll reply: “On the contrary — now I can actually enjoy my job. I can focus on analyzing and solving problems instead of spending hours hunting for a missing comma or trying to remember the command to split a string…”

It’s true — change is coming, fast and hard.

But that’s what evolution is: adapting to shifting environments.

Let’s see if we survive — or go extinct!
