Just Do It!
I had a brush up class on communication — spoken and writing — yesterday and it was a great refresher. One of the key take aways from the session was that, as a way to improve our writing and speaking, we should start writing — starting from anywhere.
This is Day One. This is me starting.
I think and ruminate alot — on a lot of things. Work, family, friends, life, relationships, health, aspirations, goals, God, abstract stuff, what-ifs, — alot of things. Many times, these deep thoughts produce very insightful conclusions that make me marvel at the type of brain I carry in my head — and why some of these conclusions have not seen the light of day yet.

I believe I have alot to share that would impact and contibute to situations, circumstances and developments around me. I am equally eager to share these contributions, and sometimes, this makes me have anxiety about it.
This anxiety tends to make me overthink, make me spend so much time looking for the perfect harmony between my virtual mental world and my reality before I take action. As I reflect now, I see that this has held me back from “doing”, and made me spend so much time on planning and “strategizing”. I am getting weary of this cycle of activity without real tangible progress, and I believe this exercise will help me clear my head, put my thoughts together, map an action direction, and most importantly — do!
So, this is me on a journey to clear my head from the ocean of words and ifs and maybes, putting them into writing so that there is some motivation to finally act. I believe this would also make me better at writing — and maybe reading also by extension. I plan to do this for the next six months, beginning with typing out my thoughts everyday on matters I ruminate on or have interesting perspectives that will impact the conversation or action wherever I am.
Finally, the lecturer also advised us not to use AI tools to polish our writing as much as possible. I wouldn’t lie, the temptation to do so is huge — especially for someone like me who uses AI tools for daily work. I cannot say about tomorrow, but for today — and this write up, I (ofcourse) did not use any AI tools.
That’s all for now. See you on Day 2 of my journey.
