Chipotle is better…
There has always been a feud between Chipotle vs. Pancheros, at least in the Midwest. I know a lot of my friends have picked a side, and even adults have a preference. However, there is an obvious answer that is backed up by evidence. It’s time to finally put the fight to a close. This is why Chipotle is the evident winner. The first reason that Chipotle wins this race is that Chipotle has more transparency. Their website lists all the ingredients, which include all of the seasonings that are used. Each ingredient is accompanied by a picture. Everything on the website looks healthy and pure; even when you enter the restaurant, the food in the containers looks vibrant and fresh. They have a variety of meat options that stay all year round, and then some proteins come and go. On the other hand, Pancheros keeps the same menu items and rarely changes their menu. Both Chipotle’s and Pancheros' grills can be seen in the back behind the counter. This comforts the customer because they can see their food being made. Chipotle’s food is better than Pancheros; this is my opinion, but it is backed up by facts. The only good thing about Pancho’s is the tortilla. The founder of Chipotle, Steve Ells, went to the University of Colorado Boulder and the Culinary Institute of America. This proves that he has a background in food. However, the pancheros founder, Rodney Anderson, graduated from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign with a degree in business. He was also in a fraternity, which doesn’t give me comfort in his culinary ideas. Chipotle locations took off, and now there are 4,100 Chipotle locations worldwide. There are Chipotle locations in More than 100 locations outside the U.S., spanning countries like Canada, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Kuwait, and the United Arab Emirates. However, Pancheros only has 70 restaurants in the us falling way short of the lead Chipotle has set. Looking closer at the food in both restaurants, I think that the biggest difference is the produce. The lettuce, guac, pico de gallo, and corn are very different. The lettuce is so much crisper at Chipotle, and the guacamole at Chipotle is miles better, at pancheros you can taste the artificial products that they use to keep the guacamole fresh; it tastes sour, like lemons. That’s why I very much prefer the guacamole at Chipotle; it is so much fresher and seasoned better with purple onions and actual lemon juice. Another food difference between the two is the protein. The protein at Pancheros is soggy, to say the least; it’s also bland and dull. At Chipotle, if anything, their food is over-seasoned. I detest soggy meat, which is why I much prefer Chipotle. In conclusion, I am knowledgeable about both restaurants and remain confident in my choice that Chipotle is the superior option. I will answer any questions in the comments. Please, no mean comments; I will be super sad.
