Hay

Fortunately, you only need to learn one word for both:

“Hay”

“Hay” is almost always followed by a noun. This noun can be modified by an adjective, a number, and/or an article.

It does not matter whether a noun is countable or uncountable, “hay” is the only option in this scenario.

If you want to include a specific quantity, you can do so by placing the number or an indefinite adjective (“muchos,” “varios,” etc.) before the noun.

If you want to use the negative all you need to do is add “no.”
