Oh this hit a nerve. 18 months ago I took my husband to his doctor and explained that I was sure he had suffered a stroke. I explained what had happened and was immediately told, "Due to his age, it is probably dementia"!!!!!!!! I responded with, "You do not get dementia in an hour" The doc than argued that it would be expensive to run tests, "Could be $3000 and the insurance might deny it" THAT was when I lost it and consigned the Insurance to a hot place. I finally got him a brain scan and sure enough, he DID have a stroke. It took a full week before he was tested and we got the result. Did I get an apology from the doctor. Not likely!
