Project-Based Learning is one of the many ways educators can help students explore many different topics they are interested in and wish to look more into. This is in comparison to traditional projects that are pre-planned and decided by teachers. Traditional projects don’t allow students to come up with original ideas and utilize their creativity to make their own projects. It doesn’t allow for students to ask more questions and seek answers, which would result in new information being gained. It is important for students to have a chance to find the answers to their questions and inspire to create something original and important to them. This gives them a sense of independence. Some of the ways students can create original ideas is through learning different topics in the classroom.
Students learn through curiosity and the desire to know more. With curiosity and desire, students can truly push themselves to learn above and beyond. They can choose questions, such as why stars appear some nights and not others? Another example question is why do some birds have smaller beaks and others have large ones? These are some of the questions students could ask, want to know, and understand. Then, they can use these questions to make topics for their own unique projects. They can be used to do research and go further in depth into finding different answers. This is something teachers should want for our students. Teachers want their students to think deeper and to go further in their educational career.
