Open-Sourcing the Python Engine Behind Equation Solver
Over the past months, I’ve been building Equation Solver , a multilingual educational math platform focused on step-by-step explanations instead of instant answer dumping.
One thing I noticed while working on the project is that many existing “solver” tools stop at giving a final number. But for students, the important part is usually the reasoning process itself.
Because of that, I started building a modular Python-based solving engine designed around:
- symbolic mathematics
- educational step generation
- structured outputs
- LaTeX formatting
- reusable solver pipelines
Today I decided to open source part of that work.

The project is still evolving, but it already includes modules for:
- algebra
- calculus
- trigonometry
- matrices
- statistics
- equation solving workflows
It’s built mainly with Python and SymPy.
The goal is not just solving equations, but creating infrastructure for explainable educational math systems.
If you’re interested in symbolic math, educational tooling, Python architecture, or math platforms in general, I’d love to hear feedback and ideas from the community.
