The Legend On The Field, Daren Whittaker
This story begins with a guy named Darren, a 13 year old male in the 8th grade who is also 5ft 9inches, brown haired, right handed, average weight, and likes to play football(soccer) with his friends or anybody who is competitive. He has brown wavy hair, He usually likes playing against his friend Michael, Michael is one of Darren’s most competitive players that Darren has ever played. Whenever Darren goes against Michael in a custom tournament, it’s almost always a very close game. Usually Darren would win, but Michael won his first game against Darren. This made Darren really mad since he has pretty bad anger issues. Darren later had a grudge against. Michael for the rest of the day.
Michael later asked if Darren was okay since he knew that Darren was really sensitive with anger issues. Darren later replied with “just leave me alone, I don’t want to talk to you right now”, Michael then respected Darren’s words and just left him alone for the rest of the day. When the next day rolled by, Michael and Darren later started playing soccer with each other again as if nothing had happened between the two of them.
Later that day, Darren almost won against Michael in a close game of 6–6, but he fell short off one point against Michael and later lost against him. Little did Darren know, Michael has been practicing during every opportunity of free time he had. Darren then realized that if he doesn’t focus, Michael will then defeat him many times and become “The School Soccer Champion.” Sooner or later, Darren practices every day 24/7 whenever he has the time to play.
After a week of practice, Darren challenged Michael to a 1v1 to see who is really the best Soccer player in the school. Michael then agreed to this challenge with full confidence believing that it would be an easy win. Little did Michael know, Darren has been practicing 24/7 and has gotten a LOT better ever since he last went against Michael.

When the match finally began, Michael was making fun of Darren to get him demotivated so that he could win, but Darren understood what Michael was doing, and he didn’t let that affect him. Darren later acted like he was demotivated after Michael was performing his plan, and Darren understood that if he timed it right, he could catch Michael off guard and score.
During the first quarter of the game, Darren hit the nastiest juke that anyone has ever seen during a school soccer game. Michael was later embarrassed and started losing due to the thought that Darren would actually defeat him even after all of that trash talk earlier. When the first half of the game ended, Darren scored 4–2 with Michael losing. Michael later stated that “Darren is just lucky, he has never been that good and never will be without luck.” Darren won the game with a final score of 9–4, with Michael scoring 2 insanely lucky shots. Darren was later confronted by Michael posing a threat after he lost. Michael later stated “I wanna beat you up so bad but you’re lucky that I don’t want to ruin my soccer career over a 1v1.”
Darren was later confronted by an official for the KHSAA and he later said, “you did really good out there kid, we believe you have the highest potential out of every middle school player I have ever seen, how would you like to play for our association once you’re old enough?” Darren later replied with “Wow, thank you so much, I will absolutely accept your offer!”
10 years later, Darren is playing in a tournament for Louisville City FC and is dominating the field when he later comes across Michael on the other team. Even though they disliked each other when they last met, when they met again after 10 years they were both ecstatic to even see each other again after a long 10 years. Michael was thinking about switching from NKU to University Of Louisville just to be on the same team as Darren due to both of their skill levels being very similar. But the odds are very slim.
Believe it or not, Michael actually made it to the University of Louisville soccer team and started playing with Darren. Darren usually plays attacking midfielder while Michael is a fantastic wing back player. Whenever they played in their first tournament match, Michael and Darren were dominating the field, winning 5 games in a row, with the last game being very close with a score of 2–1. Michael and Darren were very nervous for their first championship game but they understood that confidence is key, but they were also thinking about how embarrassing it would be to lose the championship match. The game is 2–2, Michael and Darren are sweating bullets because they see that there is only 3 minutes left on the clock. Darren hits the craziest head hitter after Michael kicked the ball to Darren but the ball was higher than expected. Darren hit a head hitter that shocked the University of Louisville and barely scratched the surface of the goal, but luckily, Darren actually scored both of the goals that game with Michael assisting both of those goals.
Darren witnessed the ball go in the goal with only 12 seconds on the clock and everybody was chanting Darren’s name, “Darren! Darren! Darren!” Darren later said, “I wouldn’t have done it if it wasn’t for my great friend Michael.” And then everybody started chanting both of their names, “Darren! Michael! Darren! Michael! Darren! Michael!” In the end, Darren and Michael
