“It’s easier when you’re a man.”

That’s what I said when he came up with how much he suffered from society.

I wish I could tell you the depth of my hate for it — how the world revolves around you when you’re a man. The world might always demand professionalism from you, but does your kind ever truly allow a woman to step into your role? Perhaps he, and those thousands of other men, are simply selfish. I could give him thousands of undeniable reasons for his struggles, and I will never let those reasons be erased from my mind.

Now, this is what I truly wish I could tell you. I could give you a hundred-point list of the things you’ve told me:

“You know you could just be a man and take that job, no matter what they paid you.”

A man could say that because it’s not impossible for him to actually progress in his career. Meanwhile, it can take a woman five years just to get to the same point. A woman has to arrange daycare for her child first, rather than just showing up to work. Her husband might do better, or they both might earn as you do. Your ignorance allows you to believe this is merely a matter of equality between you and your partner. But imagine how many other women you condemn when you hold them to the standard of your partner’s success. Perhaps it’s not just about competition here, but the simple fact that your appearance plays a deciding role.

“You can just ask for something and use those expressions; it would always work for you.”

Did you know that a woman could ask only for a loaf of bread and be treated as a laughingstock? Society could simply offer her that bread — an act of simple humanity. Instead, they demand she dance naked for their fun and games.

“I beat everyone to sit on the peak.”

And I bet you sit with your feet casually crossed, watching everyone below you struggle and slowly starve. The world revolves around your feet when you’re a man, but around my neck, it is a noose, ready to strangle me every time I dare to complain. They don’t just put a hand on my throat; it dictates my every next move.

“Did you know how much I paid to be here?”

That’s what your kind would say if you ever came across a prostitute. As if prostitution were something easy for you to do. Women batter their minds and lose their dignity repeatedly. They have endured this disgusting cycle for centuries, and all you could think of was your superiority to her body. Is this how your kind intends to rule the world, or is it just the inferiority complex inside you trying to impress me?
