The Perfect Formula for Memorization: Anki + Claude Code
I think I’ve stumbled into a near-perfect formula for how to learn and memorize information — combining Anki flashcards with Claude Code.
I’ve been building with, working on, and thinking about AI for a while now. First as a research assistant at a major lab, then as an AI engineer, and more recently as an AI instructor. The whole time I’ve been fascinated by this idea of augmenting yourself with technology.
That word — augmentation — can feel cringe. Picture the guys filming people on the street with Ray-Ban Meta glasses. It feels less like an amplifier and more like a wall between you and the world. But done right, augmentation is the opposite. It’s the thing that lets you actually access and understand the world more deeply.
One of the practices that’s done that for me over the last seven years is Anki.

If you don’t know Anki: it’s free, open-source flashcard software. You make cards…
