Donnie’s Legacy
Donnie frets over his legacy. Will school groups touring D.C. in 2126 be instructed, “The massive building over there is the Trump Ballroom designed and built by the man that history remembers as “The Builder-in-Chief”. The teeny structure attached to it is the original White House. No one knows who built it. That massive arch that blots out the sun was also “The Builder-in-Chief’s” doing.”
Donnie’s legacy is not limited to new construction. According to an interview with Time magazine, Donnie wants to preserve his changes to the Oval Office for posterity. Louis XIV’s gold leaf all over Versailles is still there. Donnie’s should remain as well. Donnie recounted an exchange with a Secret Service official:
“The Secret Service said, ‘Sir, we think the Oval Office should be taken down for security reasons, and we’ll build a new one, sir.”
“I said, ‘My ass, you can’t build a new one. This is a special place!’”

Donnie claimed he was exploring the possibility of a new federal designation for the Oval Office, which could protect it from being torn down and would preserve his changes to it.
“Fake News” Time magazine pointed out that the White House is already designated a National Historic Landmark, a federally conferred status that is intended to offer protections against sudden changes. A future President couldn’t decide to put a stovepipe hat on Lincoln’s head on Mount Rushmore for example. “But Abe always wore his stovepipe hat outdoors!”
Not that the Landmark designation has prevented Donnie from paving over the Rose Garden (small potatoes as he would say) and demolishing the White House East Wing to build his monstrous Ballroom. Donnie got his lackeys in Congress to exempt the White House from the National Historic Preservation Act. Now he wants to revive Historic Preservation to keep the Oval Office just the way he left it for future Presidents to bask in all that gold leaf.
What will Trump’s Legacy be? It’s more likely he will be remembered for running the Federal Debt over $40 trillion with his tax cuts and Middle East wars while personally making $2.2 billion in 2026 than by whatever he builds on the taxpayer’s dime.
