“Whatever you are, be a good one.” — Abraham Lincoln

The 2026 midterm election results show the pendulum swinging back, as pendulums do, I believe, from 2016, when it was thought that our country should be run like a business. The idea had merits. Americans were willing to give it a try. Ten years later, Americans feel differently.

Americans have been struggling. Bottom line. It’s hard to stand by and watch as people who already have more than enough reach out to take more, sometimes unscrupulously, at the expense of those who need it.

Personally, I am happy to see that, in my home state of Ohio, the rust belt counties have spoken in the gubernatorial race, congratulations to Amy Acton. In 2016, people in the rust belt counties were promised jobs and economic relief. I can’t speak to the specifics of what has transpired since then, but when people are struggling to survive, the only thing they have is hope.

Congratulations to those in both parties who have won this election, I look forward to the future. I value politicians by their intentions and actions serving our country, before their political party, because that is the oath they have taken as a political servant.

Pendulums swing back and forth in opposite directions until they find equilibrium. Wild fluctuations in one direction typically yield wild fluctuations in the opposite direction, perpetuating, as what appears to be the case in recent history. Temperance helps pendulums find their equilibrium.

Best wishes to everyone.
