Happy Birthday
Best wishes poem to an old friend
HAPPY BIRTHDAY
As friends we can question each other
In ways that only real brothers may do
Do you remember…do you recall
This picture, we were 23 it was late in the Fall
Those days on the golf course
Those nights at the bar
We would swing with great force
The balls would travel so far
Those were the good days that seem long ago
When we could manage anything without an ego
These days things have slowed just a bit
When we get the chance, we would rather just sit
It comes with growing older and smarter as well
It comes with the stories that only we can tell
It comes with being careful, so we don’t stumble and fall
It comes with the memories, that’s the best of all
So as another birthday arrives, I won’t mention the year
Let us enjoy every moment full of games and good cheer.
