Anxiety
Anxiety has been my companion for far too long.
It has crippled me in ways that feel… toxic.
My mind starts to race,
my words begin to ramble — unable to pause —
yet somehow, I still lose track of what I was even saying.
Anxiety plays tricks on me.
It convinces me to isolate myself,
so I don’t feel like a burden to anyone else.
The hardest part?
You still have to show up.
You still have to function.
You still have to pause, breathe, and gather your thoughts —
all while hoping no one notices.

And if they do…
you have to be ready for that too.
You answer the calls.
You show up for everyone.
Not because you have the energy to —
but because you don’t want anyone asking if you’re okay.
So you keep it light.
You answer only what’s asked.
Hoping they don’t look too closely…
Hoping they don’t ask more.
You stay productive,
always getting things done —
So no one can see
how loud your body feels on the inside.
And through it all,
you keep a smile on your face…
When all you really want
is to rest.
