Why I Finally Bought My Own Domain Name
For years, I never saw much value in owning a personal domain name. Social media and online profiles seemed to do the job well enough.
Eventually, I changed my mind.
A personal website isn’t about replacing every other platform. It’s simply one place that brings everything together. Profiles change over time, websites come and go, but having a single location makes it easier to keep public information organized.

That doesn’t mean it has to be elaborate. In my case, I wanted something simple: a short introduction and links to the online platforms I use most often.
Putting it together also reminded me that simple solutions are often the most practical. Instead of wondering which profile is the most current, having one central page makes it easier to keep information consistent.
Owning a personal domain certainly isn’t necessary for everyone, but if you enjoy technology or like learning how the web works, it’s an interesting project that doesn’t require much maintenance once it’s set up.
Sometimes the simplest ideas turn out to be the most useful.
