You know, Nigerians used to think it was just simple “corruption”, boldly coated with acute embezzlement of hard cash.

We used to think they were at least, ashamed of their despicable acts, and won’t go beyond just looting public funds.

Actually, we know they’re cold-blooded animals, we just didn't know how cold. Bold of us to assume they would want their sadistic acts to forever remain top secret.

We were wrong!

Dauntlessly, we defended our interest in Big Brother Naija. They labelled us “intellectually weak!” Suddenly, the “Lazy Nigerian Youths” hit the streets on October 2020, after enduring constant harassment and fatal pain from the authorities, who are originally designed to protect them.

Our government usually don’t do a great job at surprising us anymore, after all, all they do is shamelessly rip us of our due benefits. We had no idea they have zero regard for our lives too.

Our brothers and sisters in diaspora stood with us. I doubt there has ever been anything that united Nigerian youths as much as the October 2020 Protest.

Today, 20–10–20, our greatest fears were confirmed. This day will forever remain fresh in our hearts.

We didn’t block the streets of Nigeria for Food or Shelter. We didn’t even do it to kill the unemployment menace currently ravaging our economy.
