Promo Videos from a Podcast

What and how

Okay, you own a business, and you want it to grow.

You see all these people around you building what they call “personal brands”, and while faceless brands become downright irrelevant, it’s about time for you to pull the curtain and show your face, too.

But how do you do that?

So many people struggle with recording themselves because they’re afraid of not coming across naturally. And I totally get that — I’ve been there myself.

Over the two years I’ve been doing podcasts, we’ve created a number of promotional materials specifically featuring guests I’ve interviewed on my show.

And I think it could be a solution.

What I’ve discovered is that CEOs or company founders feel like they can’t speak directly to the camera, but when they’re talking to a good podcast host, they’re more than awesome.

We recently did this with the CEO of ERE Media, recording a conversation where he pretty much promoted the upcoming conference in San Diego, one of the biggest HR conferences in the United States.

And these are the awesome short clips we created using David’s A-roll, where he’s simply answering my questions.

My long-standing customer, The Chad & Cheese Podcast, even sells this as a service to TA vendors. A little bump is a conversation about a new release from a particular company, and the following clips from our production do a great job of promoting their businesses.

Mind, this is not an advertisement for our services. This is just the reality of how things are today. With AI bombarding our feeds, this approach can make your business more… human. And human is what stands out.

Go on podcasts, ask the host to send you the raw footage, and hire an editing team to create great video marketing pieces for you.

And it doesn’t have to be podcasts. It could also be conferences, talks from the stage, etc.

With LinkedIn changing its algorithm and us losing access to what was called our network (a.k.a. our network), it’s becoming monumentally important to create assets that have the potential for greater reach.

And although people don’t like this change, video is king now.

So, if you want to reach people on LinkedIn or less professional networks such as Instagram or TikTok, consider creating social clips from your media appearances.

If you’re interested in coming on my show to promote one of your businesses, we can totally do that.

Here’s the channel where I host these short conversations: https://www.youtube.com/@TheBeverlyLab

P.S. If you’re actually comfortable speaking directly to the camera, check out the example of Lars, our newest client, and take a look at the videos we’ve been putting out for him so far. The results have been pretty damn solid.

Thanks so much, and till next time!
