They Saw Her Weight. I Saw My Sister. ❤️
People kept telling her what she needed to change. I kept wondering why nobody stopped to notice everything she already was.
I have a cousin sister whom I have watched growing up since childhood. She has always been a little healthier than other girls, and somehow, that became the first thing people noticed about her.
Not her smile, not her nature, not how kind she is, not how beautifully she understands people, and not how well she cooks. Just her body.
“Exercise more.” “You should lose some weight.” “Do this, it will help you lose weight.” “You don’t even know how to ride a bicycle.” “You really need to lose weight.”
She heard these things from people all the time, as if her body was something that needed to be changed. But honestly, I never understood why people cared so much about it.
Because whenever I looked at her, I never saw someone who needed to be fixed. I just saw my sister. My very special sister.
“Whenever someone said something about her, I honestly felt like shouting at them.”
