Having an Acceptance Mindset

--

In the previous article, I shared some thoughts on why A Humony Mindset Requires Acceptance of yourself, others, situations, and events.

How do you achieve an Acceptance Mindset? It’s not as hard as it might seem.

Combining understanding with compassion and nonjudgment creates and results in an Acceptance Mindset. This mindset will shape your interactions with others. Part and parcel of this Acceptance Mindset includes:

Accepting and letting go of the desire to change them.

Focusing on the positive aspects that you love or like about them. Use these positive aspects to foster understanding and acceptance. Learn to appreciate these attributes, as they undoubtedly help build and support the positive character traits you value in them.

Commit to finding a place of peacefulness, including:

  • Peaceful interactions with others.
  • Practice detachment from actions that typically anger you.
  • Reframe hostile perspectives.
  • No negative interpersonal interactions (be kind and compassionate).
  • No judging others or expressing judgments.
  • No sarcastic, smartass comments to anyone.
  • Do not be outwardly dismissive of anyone or anything.
