For Many, It’s Now Just Another Event in the History Books
September 11, 2026, marked the 25th anniversary of a reprehensible event we must never forget. It was an event destined to result in massive death, destruction, wars, and grand manipulation by those in control.
But sadly, after a quarter century, many Americans have long forgotten 9/11 or don’t care enough, and are too distracted and too busy to take the time to do their research and double-check the integrity of the so-called ‘official’ story of the 9/11 event.
Today we entirely ignore that 9/11 was indisputably the most fateful tragedy of our time. It was an event from which enormous negative consequences have flowed. In fact, we now joke about it more than we accept it as the heinous event it was.
In February 2026, as part of my ever-expanding series of ‘Brief Books,’ I published “9/11 — The Crime and Cover-up of the Ages.” I wrote that book to help ‘Shake People Awake.’

For this article, I want to remind you of the countless experts and witnesses who have rejected the ‘Official Government Story’ of 9/11. I also want to address how, when it comes to truth versus the ‘official story,’ America still abides by the notion of ‘American Exceptionalism.’ I also want to talk briefly about how 9/11 has become just another event in history textbooks.
So, I’ll begin with…..
9/11 Truth and the falsity of the official story
Over the past quarter century since 9/11, many physicists, engineers, chemists, architects, jet pilots, military officers, demolition experts, scientists, intelligence agents, firefighters, scholars, whistleblowers, investigative reporters, political leaders, filmmakers, and others have publicly rejected the official story.
The ‘9/11 Truth Movement’ comprises educated people still seeking the objective truth, as every American should. Within the 9/11 Truth Movement are countless articulate, intelligent, rational, fact-based researchers. Academics above all, they in no way fit the stereotypical image of a “conspiracy theorist” — someone whose dimly-lit basement walls are collaged with newspaper articles and clippings.
Taking a level-headed and emotionally detached look at the massive and varied evidence disproving the ‘official story,’ researchers within the 9/11 Truth Movement have systematically shredded every single strand of the government’s poorly spun web of lies.
David Ray Griffin has stood out as one of history’s most impressive individuals with his research regarding what transpired on 9/11.
In 2004, Griffin published “The New Pearl Harbor,” which revealed dozens of omissions, distortions, and contradictions in the official story, and provided undeniable evidence of its falsity. His book was translated into several languages and helped spark a worldwide movement demanding the “9/11 truth.”
In his 2012 follow-up book, “The New Pearl Harbor Revisited,” Griffin brought together a significant quantity of additional evidence and demonstrated beyond question the fraudulent nature of the government’s official story.
In 2018, Griffin published a book coauthored by Elizabeth Woodworth titled: “9/11 Unmasked: An International Review Panel Investigation.” For this book, an international panel of experts highlighted problems with the major claims of the official story of 9/11.
The panel was composed of experts from many disciplines, including physics, chemistry, structural engineering, aeronautical engineering, and jurisprudence. Griffin’s book was the result of a six-year investigation by this review panel, which provided 51 points illustrating the problematic status of the major claims in the official story of the 9/11 attacks.
The panel noted that most dramatically, the official account of the destruction of the Twin Towers and World Trade Center 7 could not possibly be true, unless the laws of physics were suspended that day. But other claims made by the official story — including the claims that al-Qaeda hijackers took over the 9/11 planes, that one of those hijackers flew his plane into the Pentagon, and that passengers on the planes telephoned people on the ground — were also demonstrably false.
American Exceptionalism
To continue to ignore the truths about 9/11 uncovered by the many thoughtful, intelligent, and courageous voices worldwide over the last 25 years, and to continue to believe the absurd official story — when there is overwhelming evidence to the contrary — is to sheepishly go along with the corrupt agenda of shadowy, exploitative, psychopathic people who are the true ‘Puppet Masters’ behind the curtain.

The term ‘American Exceptionalism’ relates to our faith in the essential goodness of America and its leaders. It’s the faith that although they may be incompetent, corrupt, and frequently lie, our government leaders would never deliberately commit a horrendous act, especially against their own citizens.
So, one way that those in control have discouraged the public from ever questioning the official story of 9/11 has been to present it as a sacred story. This has made questioning it seem unpatriotic and sacrilegious.
The idea that the George W. Bush administration could have orchestrated — or even consciously allowed — the 9/11 attacks was, and still is, so absurd to the gullible American public as to be quickly ruled out. Because of this mindset, no examination of relevant, legitimate evidence has ever been considered necessary.
Instead, the way we mourn the losses of the 9/11 event today involves fully accepting the falsity of the ‘official story’ — how it transpired and who the guilty villains were (Muslim terrorists).
The complicit mass media
As a result of careful media spinning combined with the bizarre notion of American exceptionalism, along with overwhelming ignorance and gullibility, most Americans still believe Osama bin Laden and al-Qaeda were responsible for bringing down the towers on 9/11.
Since day one, despite glaring inconsistencies, contradictions, and security failures that seemed too unlikely to be believable, the mainstream media has never asked questions or adequately investigated. It merely reported whatever the authorities said.
The sign of an authoritarian state is a ‘news reporting’ media that feels no responsibility to investigate and find the truth. Instead, it accepts its role as a propagandist. The entire Western media has been in propaganda mode for a long time.
9/11 is now just another event in history
As we mark 25 years since the attacks, the way people talk — and joke — about the tragic event has evolved dramatically — especially on the internet.
For many people, the passage of time has reduced the trauma associated with 9/11 and allowed them to feel more comfortable using humor to process the last two decades in a different light. For example, many of the younger Gen-Zers on the internet often use black comedy when discussing something they’ve only ever read about in history books, such as 9/11.
Over time, it seems the public’s sensitivities regarding 9/11 have abated — and in less time than you might expect. George Bonanno, a Columbia University clinical psychology professor, says that rates of good mental health in New York City returned to normal levels within a few months of 9/11, suggesting ‘surprising resilience.’
According to Bonanno: “There’s a certain time that people seem to need where they just absolutely don’t want any disrespect or anything funny about it at all, because they’re deeply wounded — but it’s not that long. Most people get beyond even the worst events a lot quicker than we tend to realize.”
And it seems that it’s not just that time has passed since 9/11. It’s that times have changed. In many ways, the War on Terror has receded from public consciousness. Groups like Al Qaeda and ISIS no longer dominate headlines, prompting people to feel more comfortable recontextualizing the last 2 ½ decades of history.
“We’re not in that moment anymore, and we’re not consumed with this global War On Terror; it’s just not as sad and terrifying anymore,” says Rutgers media professor Lauren Feldman.
A new investigation of 9/11 will never happen
To this day, there are countless lingering questions and inconsistencies with the ‘official story’ regarding the events of September 11, 2001. So, one must seriously consider: What if there is a legitimate alternative version to the 9/11 Commission Report? A version where all the puzzle pieces fit together and create the true picture of what happened that dreadful day — including who was behind it, and why?
Not long after 9/11, over 2,300 architects and engineers wrote to Congress requesting a real investigation. But instead of the request being treated with the respect that 2,300 professionals deserved, the professionals were summarily dismissed as ‘conspiracy theorists.’
The truth regarding 9/11 must eventually be revealed lest our American democracy be rendered meaningless by future repetitions. But will Congress ever authorize such an honest investigation of the pivotal event of our time?
Don’t count on it. And here are three simple reasons why: American exceptionalism, the propagandistic mainstream media, and the complacent/gullible/naïve American public.
