(Pic not mine)
Once upon a time there was a boy and his younger sister.
They were going trick or treating when something took a twist.
“Brother, I’m ready to go! I’m a witch, can you tell?” Said my sister. “An ugly witch.” I muttered under my breath as she dragged me to the park to start trick or treating.
“Katie, I’m too old for trick or treating. Why can’t you go by yourself?” I ask my sister. “You’re twelve, that’s not too old. I’m eight, I ccan’t go by myself.” She says. She’s right, although I’d never admit it. “Twelve is old enough to stay home and play video games instead of dressing up and asking strangers for candy. You know, white vans usually offer candy on every night, why is tonight so special?” I say.
“It’s not just dressing up!” My sister says. “I hope you get taken by a white van.” I mutter under my breath. “I heard that! That’s not a very nice thing to say, especially to your sister.” She says. “Who cares? Just because we’re related doesn’t make you different from anybody else.” I snap at her. “Oh please, you’re just mad that you forgot to dress up.” She says. I look down at my clothes. Normal. “Am not! I did this on purpose, I don’t want to dress up.” I say.
“You probably did, you just are too lazy.” She says to me. I was about to say something rude back until I heard a doorbell ring. Katie, of course, had to ring the doorbell. If she didn’t, she wouldn’t be able to say “trick or treat” in that annoying little tone she gets when trying to please strangers. So annoying.
“Trick or treat!” Katie says in that annoying tone that I mentioned. I roll my eyes. “Oh,” an old woman says as she comes out of the door. “You little girl. You must be a witch!” She says like it’s a great discovery. “Young sir, who might you be dressed up as?” The old woman says towards me.
“I didn’t dress up. That’s for babies, I’m almost thirteen, I ddon’t need to pretend to be something weird.” I say. “Oh, you shouldn’t say that.” The old woman says in a warning tone. “If you say that the werewolves will get you first!” The old woman chuckles. I don’t think it’s funny. It’s not scary either. She’s just a try-hard. “No such things.” I say to her in an annoyed tone.
