The 2026 Milan-Cortina d’Ampezzo Olympics have begun.
The 25th Winter Olympics are scheduled to be held in Milan and Cortina d’Ampezzo, Italy, until February 22.
Italy has hosted the Winter Olympics twice before, and this marks the first time in 70 years since the Cortina 1956 Winter Games and 20 years since the Turin 2006 Winter Games. It will also be the first time Milan hosts the Olympics, whether summer or winter. A total of 8 sports and 116 events will be held, with winter sports athletes competing fiercely.
Here in Akita Prefecture, we are also familiar with snow, being a snowy region. Therefore, we are putting a lot of energy into supporting the athletes.
