My Daily travel in Metro

Essay

For my daily travel, I prefer using the Delhi Metro over any other mode of transport. It has become an important part of my routine because it is cheap, safe, and very convenient. Unlike roads that are full of traffic and delays, the metro helps me save a lot of time and reach my destination without stress. It also protects me from harsh weather conditions like extreme heat, cold, or rain. Since it is easy on my pocket, I do not have to think twice before travelling. Most importantly, I feel comfortable and secure while travelling in the metro, which makes my journey peaceful and worry-free.

From a safety perspective, the Delhi Metro feels very secure to me. I can travel even during odd hours without much fear. The presence of women-only coaches allows me to sit comfortably, and facilities like CCTV cameras, along with CRPF personnel and security guards, make the environment feel protected. I am able to travel alone without needing anyone’s help, and this also gives my family a sense of reassurance. Because of this, I feel a strong sense of independence, as I do not have to depend on others for my travel. Another important thing for me is that I do not have to interact with people unnecessarily. In cabs or autos, I often have to talk to the driver, but in the metro, I can simply use my card, enter, and exit without any conversation. This allows me to stay in my own space, listen to music, and travel peacefully.

The visual scenes inside the Delhi Metro are always interesting and full of life. Every day, I notice different kinds of people sharing the same space. Some people, especially those travelling for the first time, look excited and happy, enjoying the experience of the metro. Office-goers can often be seen opening their laptops and working even during the journey, making good use of their time. There are also young children who move around playfully and seem to enjoy the ride with great enthusiasm. At the same time, many people appear tired after a long day, and some even fall asleep during the journey. This, to me, shows how comfortable and safe the metro feels, because one can only relax or sleep in a place where they feel at ease.

Another reason why I find the Delhi Metro superior to other modes of transport is how comfortable it is during different weather conditions. In summers, the metro is always air-conditioned, which makes travelling much easier compared to buses or cabs where heat can become unbearable, especially during traffic jams. In winters, it feels more manageable because I do not have to stand outside for long in the cold or fog, which is quite common in Delhi. During the rainy season, the metro becomes even more reliable. Roads often get waterlogged, and other transport modes get stuck in long traffic jams, causing delays and discomfort. In contrast, the metro continues to run smoothly, saving both time and effort. Because of this, I find the metro much more dependable and comfortable in all kinds of weather.

I also feel much less tired while travelling by the Delhi Metro. Over time, it has become emotionally important to me because it was through the metro that my parents first allowed me to travel alone. It made me realize that I do not always need someone’s support to move around the city. Another thing I have noticed is the cleanliness of the metro. It protects me from Delhi’s pollution and dust, which is a big problem while travelling by roads. When I use cabs or autos, my phone screen, face, and even my hair get covered with dust. However, in the metro, I do not face such issues. It feels much cleaner and more comfortable, and this saves me from a lot of everyday trouble.

In conclusion, the Delhi Metro is more than just a mode of transport for me. It makes my daily life easier, safer, and more comfortable in many ways. It saves my time, protects me from harsh weather, and gives me a sense of security and independence. Over time, it has become an essential part of my routine and something I truly rely on. For me, travelling in the metro is not just about reaching a destination, but also about feeling at ease and confident while doing so.
